This course is fun to play for those who hit it straight.
Showed up to the course, and the staff was friendly and had our carts waiting. Never ran into slow play or an ugly patch on the course. Enjoyed the toughness of a few long holes, and a few tight holes, and overall it was a fun and challenging round.
Good value
Course is reasonably well maintained. It can be played from nearly 7000 yards if you want. First hole is a bit goofy in that it borders the driving range, so you will have range balls in your fairway. They did let 5 people (who were sharing clubs and teaching an inexperienced golfer) play on a Sunday morning. The 5-some refused to let twosomes play through, so several groups skipped a hole to get the round in. In their defense, they might not have known about the 5-some and there were only 2 employees on site.
Very poor condition
Course is in awful shape. Fairways haven't been mowed in quite some time. Rough is 5-8 inches long in some places. The places they had mowed the rough had massive amounts of grass clippings and added 45 mins to our round with the amount of time we had to spend search for balls in the clippings. Green had lots of dead areas on them and they were still locating the pins in those places. Not a fun time
Terrible course condition overpriced
Way way over priced for the condition. Weeds everywhere in the fairway. Very long grass in the fairway. I lost several balls for minutes at a time in the fairway. The greens have patches missing. You have to putt through half inch craters that run the length of the green. They try to charge 42 dollars. Tyler Creek is down the road much cheaper around 20 and the course is in much better condition. Avoid this course!
Very long grass!
The fairway, green, and rough were all far too long. I'm not sure if we just caught them on a bad day or what, but it was nearly unplayable. If you didn't hit the overgrown fairway off the tee, good luck ever finding your ball in the 5-7 inch rough with dandelions everywhere. We left after 12 of 18 holes in part because we had had enough, and in part that we weren't sure if we had enough balls to get to 18. Pretty ridiculous.
