Making improvements, $10 32 oz Bloody Mary!
I’ve played this course now probably at least a dozen times over the last four years. I’ve been living in this area 30+ years but took 2028 years to play the scores for some reason. The course is self has a really kind of a cool layout up and down through the woods, lots of character and they are starting to make some good improvements to the course cutting down a lot of trees and making it more playable. We got a great deal on Geoff wife and I and with today’s prices ever escalating we have to look for a good deal so far this year, I’m not saying Links of Bowen lake on tee off, so unfortunately played that course a lot last year just down the street from the scores this course.
We played on Wednesday, which was an awesome beautiful 68° no wind just a glorious day and the place was packed mostly retirees like myself, but we didn’t care. We still played under four hours And thing I had a nice big, bloody Mary we were enjoying the gorgeous weather. The greens are in good shape and the course has lots of character like I said, and the price was good. Most of these local courses are really getting out of hand with the pricing if you’re talking close to 50 bucks or more per person it’s hard for a retired couple to go out and spend 100 bucks each time , unfortunately it’s starting to prices out of the game, but will continue to look for deals.
‘60s style country bumpkin, Bowen Lk modern and much preferred value
Ok we are playing here Saturday 10/7/23 on a cool damp day because for 3 of us it’s only $50.38 for 18 w cart. We have played here about a half dozen times total and Bowen Lk which is 5 minutes away probably 25 time, half of that this year because Tom and Tommy the new owners are also on TeeOff and usually close in price to Brookside but twice the course.
Ok Brookside was built in 60s and actually has good character and was designed by one of the Matthews and/ or H Gorney so it is interesting. It’s just not bent grass fairways and small mounded greens. During Covid the traps were hideous but have been filled this year. It is a fun time here don’t get me wrong but totally different atmosphere than Bowen.
The owners daughter is running it and has alot to learn in customer skills. Observed 3-4 women around her all wasting time with no knowledge. A girl gave me a beer with a straw!!
Attention to detail lacks here. Lotsa competition here in north Kent / Montcalm/ Greenville
Super Value
Friendly staffing, perfect pace, greens were excellent. Value for the round was fantastic.
Worth it.
Nice course layout, challenging greens, great value
Man it Rained
It poured from the time we got there. Course has a nice setup and played well despite the rain. We played 11 before we finally called it good. There is a lot of nice scenery. Stopped for a hotdog and drinks, did not break the bank. Will definitely play again.
Worth it!
This golf course is amazing especially at such a low price. A fun and great time and friendly staff! As well as that they have a full bar and restaurant!
Golf at a budget
What a course for the price. Play a pace was excellent. Tee boxes were okay but it is fall. Small greens to land your ball so you have to be dead on. Overall I would recommend this course to anybody and I'm definitely will be back. This is a small gem worth playing!!!
Nothing less than the best
Great course, challenging hole locations good layout
Impressed as always
From the extraordinary, courteous and helpful staff to the great value, Brookside is the standard for your everyday blue collar American golfer! Challenging enough for the more experienced golfer yet is a course that is forgiving enough for the beginners to benefit from. Keep up the great work!
Good local course
Having golfer brookside many times. The course was in good shape, both fairway and greens.
Good local course.
