A hot mess!
There wasn’t much that was good about this course on Monday. The pace of play was excellent, considering I was the only one on the course.
The tee boxes were poor at best, not one flat one on the course. A couple of them did not have the markers on where to tee off from. The fairways were indistinguishable from the rough. The greens were the slowest things I have ever played on.
One other good thing about Michigan Meadows were they have new carts.
I would not recommend this course.
Not a great course
Will not be coming back. Course was soaked even though it didn’t rain the day before. The smell itself was bad enough not to come back. But greens were very slow and not very well taken care of. Let alone the fairways weren’t even cut. You could lose your ball on the fairway, it’s so long. The course just swallows ball. It was so muddy and only 3 holes had a plug for the ball wash to clean the mud off. Had to even use your own water. When the ball falls in the hole it doesn’t even sound right. The boiled hot dogs that come on soggy buns were not worth the 5$. At least there was plenty of restrooms.
Course was trashed
Never will play again waste of money greens were messed up
Set up the facilities
The course was what I would expect for early spring golf, wet with slow greens. But they should still have ball washers out and at least an outhouse at the back of the course.
Good value when you get a deal.
Great Course
Despite the wet conditions - it was still a great round. I think they need to address the drainage issue they may be having. We haven't had any rain in the past few weeks so the course should have been fairly dry. There was standing water in several areas. Other than that - this remains as one of my favorite courses to play!
In Good Shape
The course is in really good shape with all the rain we have gotten. It helped them get to the next level after a rough dry year last year. Better every year.
Not Bad
Fairways were good, tee boxes ok BUT Greens were like playing pebbles. Cart path is really bad but the coarse is ok and worth playing if you get a deal
Potential is there
Not a bad course, working to regain better conditions. Fun layout that lent itself to good iron play with a few dramatic dog legs. Fun green layout I think at 16, in the shape of the Michigan mitten. As the bunkers eventually get repaired, and the green conditions improve, I think this course could get into the summer rotation
Wont be back
The course was over grown, the greens were the condtion the fairways should have been. The grass on tee boxes was like teeing the ball up in your back yard. Looked like the course decided bunkers were too much work and that it was better just to let the grass grow through. The course was in really bad shape very disappointed.
A work in progress
New ownership has made this once neglected course very enjoyable. Nice layout, and well maintained except an ant infestation on many of the greens, and bunkers under repair. Also, the cart path is in rough shape, many pot holes, and much mud. Average pricing and a great restaurant make this a fine choice for golf and dining.
The course was good. There were some people playing slower and somebody came up to our group and was trying to rush us which I didn’t care for but all in all it was all right needs a little work. Thank you.
Price should be $15 for 9 holes
The condition of this course is awful. It's name describes it all....you are literally playing in a meadow. It is overpriced and under cared for.
Backyard Golf
I have made 3 huge mistakes in my life, and playing Michigan meadows is one of them. First of all, the staff were over their head. The guy running the pro shop could barely see the screen because the font was too small for him. Either get this man some glasses or increase the size of the font. Second, the tee boxes were more roughed up than my ex-girlfriend. There were no level places to stand. There were more weeds in the tee box than grass, and nobody fixes their divots. Thirdly, the fairways were more prepared for a backyard barbecue then for golfing. We’re talking more weeds in the fairway then in a cannabis shop. Not to mention the ground was harder than my SAT. Fourthly, the greens were slower than pro shop wifi. I practically had to use a 3 wood to get it to the hole. Also, some greens had divots in them! If the pro shop would have charged me $5 I would have been offended but me and my dad paid $75 for 9 holes. Insanity. Be careful on the first par 5 as there are electric wires that cross the fairways making it difficult to reach the green in 2 as both my dad and I hit them. Needless to say, we did not have a good time. I will not be back. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to this course.
Almost to cold
We were excited to get out but it was a little too cold for us. Too many layers to swing properly but still had fun. Course was better than we expected.
