Need a variety of shots to score well

Appreciated the spacing out of tee times to 10 minutes, rarely had to wait and got the front 9 done in 1:40. Wide variety of shots are needed to score well here. Elevated tees/greens, doglegs, tight shots through woods, water around greens, long par 5's, hilly lies in all directions. Course is in good condition and greens run well but I wouldn't recommend playing after rain as water sits on several fairways. Markets itself as a "Muni" but it's priced higher than most Municipal courses. Friendly staff who want you to have a good experience.

Would update this course to 5 stars but Golfpass doesn't let you update reviews. Easily one of the best courses in the area after playing a dozen of them.

Exceptional Staff

When we checked in we told them my 96 year old father was going to ride in the cart with us. They also discovered dad was a World War II. Veteran. Owen and his staff made dad feel so special and went way over and above to make our golfing experience special. Besides being a beautiful course their employees were so special. I highly recommend Leslie Park Golf Course.

Lots of Fun and Interesting holes

The first three holes on this course are pretty average municipal type golf holes but the rest of the course is a fun and interesting layout. It features elevation changes, water hazards and some tree lined fairways. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Terrible staff

We had 5 for twilight golf. Stuck behind a group of 4 walkers (we had all carts) for the last 7 of 9 holes. The staff then scolded us for taking too long. Trash service for a trash price. Rethink how you manage a course.

Top quality Michigan muni experience

The quality of a municipal golf course tends to ebb and flow over time based on government factors often beyond the control of the golf course staff. It seems that Leslie Park is enjoying a moment in the sun. I played this course all the time in the 1990s. It's been about 10 years since I played it last, and this week I saw it in about its best shape ever.

I really like the creek enhancements and with the colorful new native areas there is wonderful definition throughout the course. I'm pleased to see that the five "new" greens from the Arthur Hills renovation in the 90s are finally consistent with the existing ones.

This is a great layout and certainly not easy. It's walkable if you can manage the climb to the 14th tee. The club leased some Tempo Walks from Club Car and that's definitely worth trying out.

No driving range onsite but there is a hitting net and two practice greens. I don't remember them having a full bar back in the day, but maybe it's because I was a teenager. We certainly enjoyed a drink on the patio after.

Rude Starter / Not following their own Covid rules

The course was in great shape and I was excited to have my first golf game with a cart. We also were treated poorly by a rude starter, not once but three times. I decided to try the course again after not visiting for a long time because of a rude man, but I will not return when that rude starter is still working there. Also, in the clubhouse, there were two employees behind the bar eating and not wearing face masks. At one point I saw 6 employees without masks on in an area that had signs state that masks should be worn. Can the carts really be sanitized with the cleaners that are coughing on the carts?

A local public gem

Leslie Park is the best municipal course in the Ann Arbor area, and regularly named a top public course in Michigan. The layout is excellent and conditions are usually good as well. The entire 18 is an engaging and strategic experience - this is a course where you're often thinking about different options to get the ball in the hole (which is a big compliment). On the weekends the pace of play does get pretty slow, so keep that in mind. The course is walkable, but there are one or two hills that you'll feel in your legs. As a local, Leslie is always one of the courses I recommend to visitors to the Ann Arbor area.

Interesting Layout, great location, amazing value

I decide to go out for a quick nine on Sunday afternoon. I was able to walk up and immediately go to the first tee. I played alone and was able to get in 10 hole playing 2 balls in 90min.
At check in the pro-shop staff was a bit distracted cleaning the shop before closing. But they we nice and took care of me.

The course is a beautiful layout with a great variety of holes. Starting on a par 5 with no driving range is a bit tough but the first hole is pretty wide open. From there there are a great mixture of long and shot par 4s,, water and elvation changes, long and short par 3s and some interesting angles. This is the second time I ahve played here and am still trying to figure out some of the tee shots. The 9th is a great hole with a hard dog leg left. There are trees to the inside and long grass to the right as well as another stand of trees. Driver is too long without a perfect draw. This is a course where you can play bogey golf with few major challenges but to shoot a par takes good execution.
The tees were level with good coverage. The par 3s had some divot damage with minimal filling. The grass is a bit long but not so long it affects play.
The fairways have excellent coverage and minimal divot damage. There are some old divots which could use a better fill but it has minimal affect on play. Like the tees the fairways are a bit soft and not super tight. This makes the course play longer than the card but is not a problem.
The traps are well kept and have good coverage.
The greens have a nice combination of size and slope. There are some pin positions that are flat and a straight forward but many with significant slope. The greens were a bit slot that late in the day but rolled true. There was some pitch mark damage. I fixed 3-5 ball marks per green.
A good value for the money and a fun play. I will definitely be back. The deer on the 9th was a nice touch.

Beautiful course, greens a little bit of a let down

This course is gorgeous and really well laid out. Its well cared for except, a little bizzarely, the greens which were long, very slow and had lots of old holes that had not been properly replaced and that left very unattractive 'shaved' spots from the greens mowing. This was a shame because for the most past the course is just wonderful. Hidden Ann Arbor gem for 30 bucks.

Great course

Really enjoyed this course! Wonderful scenery, well kept fairways and fast greens. Placement of pins when I played was a bit challenging as they were frequently on steep slopes but the greens rolled true. Great price for the quality of the course.

Best Course in SE Michigan

$15.30 to walk 18 at 3 pm on a Monday. Conditions were great. Layout forces you to use every club in your bag. Great mix of short and long par 3's, 4's and 5's. Wish the 9's were reversed. It would save about 10 minutes a round since the walk from 9 to 10 is so far.
