Nice course which is having improvements done regularly
Played Fairway Hills for the 2nd time this year. Always a fun course to play, the course is in average shape with some tee boxes, greens and fairways a little rough. Carts are new with GPS, ball/club washer, and covers on the back in case of rain-- very nice. Only complaint is that both times we played, the cart cot out of sync with the GPS--- for example on hole 14 both times we played, the cart would not move forward or backward so we had to get out and actually push the cart forward until it 'clicked in' that the cart was still on the path as required. This happened both times we played on this hole. The first time we played, it happened on several holes so maybe they are still getting the carts set up. We also saw others have this same difficulty as well so it wasn't our cart and it wasn't the fact of being off the path either. There's some major construction going on around at the 2nd hole as well so you do have to take a detour near that green. All said and done, the course is a fun course to play and so centrally located, we will assuredly be back!
Ok course for the money
This was my first time playing Fairway Hills. Grass on the fairways is sparse. Bunkers were in good shape. Greens were in fair condition. Starter was accommodating. Guidance correlating driving distance and tee selection was helpful. Cart GPS path control was a little too tight. On #1, my cart got stuck on the cart path approaching the first tee. Given the price paid, it was an ok experience.
Really nice course, trust your golfers more and reduce control of your carts
Really nice, short but challenging course. the only reason for 4 stars is the cart. It's gps controlled and starts acting funny and shuts off not even close to restricted areas. I actually had to get out and push my cart to get it to drive again. not sure why they want to micro manage their golfers like that.
Don’t play your regret it.
The greens were freshly air-rated and sand was heavy. Putting and holding a line was impossible. Wasn’t warned of this prior to booking and there was no discount given for the poor conditions of the greens. There is a major drainage project going on right now all over the course. Affecting the way you get to holes and extending the distance you have to walk. Again no prior warning. Definitely not worth the price. Stay away.
Punched greens
The greens were aerated around 4/14, so they were still very sandy and bumpy on 4/17. More sand was put down in the morning, but not enough to smooth out the bumps. Not unplayable, but certainly affected the line and speed of your putting. They added sand to the bunkers, which made them more consistent. Fairway Hills is a target golf course - not very long and quite narrow. You can score if you keep it in play and in the fairway. Conditions are always so-so, but you go for the price and the chance to chase the little white ball.
Hidden Gem
What a beautiful course went on a popular day and the course was in great shape, all other golfers kept it moving, carts were state of the art, and the price was unbeatable.
Good Track
Good track with lot of different type of holes. Serious course to walk. Looking forward to playing it in the summer
Very nice course
I would have given it 5 stars for the condition but after all, it is still coming back from winter.
