Great for the price
Course is a good deal for the price. I've played the course foe 5 years and it's really improved since then. They have a island green which is a really challenging. We were a twosome and played behind a foursome they let us pass after one hole. we played in 3 and half hours, greasy day
already missing this course
I and my wife enjoyed this course with no interference. That is why we could broke our scores much under our averages. We strongly recommend this course for your vacations, anniversaries and any events. All of the staffs were utmost kind and their maintenance was excellent. You will be happy once you experience this course.
Lost on a golf course
I know the first time at a course, you have to find your way around. This course I found my way by luck. the cart path and direction to the next hole is a guess at best. Other than that it was a fun course to play. The layout was hard to follow, but the holes were fun to play. The 16th hole is an island green and is not a large one so be accurate with your choice of club.
Course design is tougher than it appears
I played from the white tees, making the course fair enough for a guy over 60. There are few hazards on short dog legs and straight par 4's that include water, some of which you can't see from the tee. The course was soggy wet in several spots making play a little tough. There was also a lot of plugs, and debris on the fairways left over from recent airation.
The greens were in great shape and held shots. They were a little slow but seemed to putt true. I would play the course again and recommend it.
It's a good buy and the staff are very friendly.
Saturated and slow
Got what I thought was a great deal with a 2:20 tee time on a Saturday afternoon but found out there was a tournament in front of us when we arrived. We sloshed thru a painfully slow 9 holes which took close to 3 hours and quit after that. Course was interesting but was extremely wet and buggy and witnessed a lot of bad golf- not a fan!
Will be back
The course was very buggy.
Also a little soggy but couldn't beat the price.
Playing at Deer Run
Enjoyed my round. Challenging course.
Need to place your shots. Greens need to be cut shorter. But a very good course. Fairways in very good condition.
Course gets better every year!
3rd year playing this course. 3 years ago could care less if I went back or not. Loved the layout but conditions 3 years ago was on the ugly side. This year course was in excellent conditions, Great deal on Golfnow! Can't beat it. No real club house to speak of but really like this course as being challenging and a Great price!
You can have a fun round.
Multiple tees make it playable for golfers of most skill levels. It won't be easy your first time around but the scenery is pleasant.
19th hole?
Yes it does have a 19th hole that you can play. It was used in the past as holes have been reworked. This was a fairly challenging course with some holes that required well place shots onto narrow fairways. Some holes are "grip it and rip it" but not all. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would play it again.
Many dog legs!
Good course, although too many holes where you never see the green. Keep your driver in the bag!
This course is always a great place to play.
I have played here several times. The course is taken care of. The staff is awesome. Great place to play.
Dear Run
Nice course
User friendly
Slow paced , two twosomes in front of our foursome should have been paired up
Nice Challenging Course
Course was in great shape for late August. Many challenging, dog leg holes with numerous hazards. Course was narrow; accuracy favored over distance. My chosen tee, White, played longer than scorecard; in many places on same tee box as Champion tees, Blue. Sand traps could use some work. A gas smell permeated the air around 3-4 holes; not sure of its source.
I'm a Beginner
This course kicked my butt. I enjoyed the challenge and my husband said is was a good course. Everyone was great. We had a hold up just after hole 2 but the starter moved them aside so several of us could move ahead of them. Will definitely be back.
Really different
This course was a weird type for golfing, but it was a lot of fun. Some places were tight, and another par 3 totally surrounded by water, but also other fairways opened up. Challenging, different, and fun.
Golfnow hot deal
This was a great deal. The course real estate is small/tight requiring many doglegs and close quarters to other holes. Course is in good condition except the rough is over grown and the greens bumpy and slow. The overall value was excellent because of the deal on GolfNow of under $20 with cart.
A lot of issues
After reading other reviews was expecting a nice little track. The fairways were uncut and very long, as were the greens which were extremely slow. Goose and bird feces are a very, very large issue here. On nearly every tee box, fairway, and green you have to dodge and tiptoe around. We booked at 4:30 through golf now and on the back nine had to also dodge the sprinkler system going off on nearly every hole. These things are almost forgivable if the course had been in better shape, but it wasn't. The staff was adequate if not accommodating. I can't imagine ever paying full price to play this course. No. 16 is one extremely tough par 3 from the blues!
excellent course
Well maintained. Got a great deal and well worth the time and money.
