Not much to it

My own fault for playing in Shreveport in the summer so the weather is out of their control. The greens were absolutely awful. Certain greens with huge burn spots on them or standing dirt. The sand traps were either rocks or under water.

Good for the money if you book the correct way!!

Ladies and gentlemen. I played this coarse earlier today by booking through GolfNow. For the money yes I think it was worth the money. We have had a lot of rain this spring here in North Louisiana so I can kinda understand the greens being so poor. A lot of the greens were very rough on the front 9 but the second 9 kinda for better. Sand traps I wouldn't even consider hitting out of of. Just pea gravel not really sand. I actually dug down a little and there was actual concrete in one pit. Fareways were in really good condition and the hills and scenery were amazing. The actual club has gone down since the last time I played here which was about 2 years ago but I think maybe one day it will come back (HOPEFUL) ... Staff was friendly and I don't think there is ever more than a couple of people out there at a time. There was absolutely no one in front or behind us. Like I said I definitely think it's worth the money if you book the correct way but you can always find out for yourself. Thanks guys!

Not worth the money

Zero attempt to upkeep the course. Bunkers filled with rocks and/water. Barely any sand. Fairway is essentially light rough

Good course

Love to play this course. It is a beautiful course with lots of hills and elevation changes. The fairways were in good shape and the greens were ok. The greens still needed some care but it looked like they were working on them. The dry weather last year almost took them out. Still the greens rolled good and are coming back. For the condition of the course it is overpriced ($45 plus tax--almost $50) unless you play twilight or get a good deal on golf now. Would not pay that much to play here unless the greens were perfect. Don't try to hit out of the bunkers, they are mainly pea gravel. This is another reason the price is too high.

With some attention, this could be good

This course has a wonderful and challenging layout and that's where the good ends.
The fairways are in decent condition for this time of year, the greens have been TERRIBLE for the past year or more. I have come back to play every couple of months to see if there is any improvement with the greens just because I truly think this is a wonderfully designed golf course. The improvements have been slower than a turtle traveling through molasses. They have improved a little though as the course was almost unplayable due to the greens about 12 months ago.
They have added GPS tracking to the golf carts ??????? I would prefer that they had spent the money on improving course conditions.
You will have to bring your own refreshments as they have only had a couple bottles of water in a mini fridge as offerings for golfers the past couple of times I've been in.
I do not know who is currently managing the "Country Club", but it is a far cry from what most would expect from a Country Club.
***no alcohol sales, not even a beer*** although beer is being brought in as evidenced by the empty cans seen in the trash bins.
Just my two cents
Regards and Hit em Straight

Sad but True

The course is an old layout. Wonderful in it's day but now owned by a church suffers from not enough money to maintain and upgrade to meet this century demands. Must have been some place once upon a time. Sad but true.

Nice track; very friendly staff!

SCC is a nice, traditional parkland course that at one time I'm sure was the belle of the ball. She needs a little TLC right now, (don't we all?) but the shot values are still there. I played on a beautiful fall day, and the course was in great shape. Greens were FAST. Stay below the hole. Highly recommended!

Great Course! The greens are a bit rough, but overall very nice.

This is one of my favorite courses that I have played on so far. I love how the courses provide a wide variety of features; such as nice rolling hills, nice water features, the fairways are nice and the rough is still manageable for the most part. The sand traps could use a little bit of work, they are closer to peat gravel traps, it makes me nervous hitting in them, and their greens are recovering, but they seem to be working on it. The carts are really cool too, there is a screen with GPS and it shows the course you are on and tells you how far away you are from the hole, very useful. I will definitely be going back. I just wish they served beer there!

Hot Deal

I reserved the tee time on golf Now for only $15 as part of a Hot Deal promotion. All the other tee times on Golf Now we're for $45 at this course. I would have felt ripped off paying $45 to okay this course. But T $15 I felt like I paid for the gas cart, and the golf was free!

The course was in on okay condition. The greens were rough and there was stagnant standing water in some of the traps. But the fairways were in decent shape. Though I almost lost ny ball in the middle of the fairway when it settled into some longish Bermuda. The place has seen better days, but for the price it was good. It took me 3 hours to play 18 holes, and that was playing 2 or 3 balls on a lot of holes. I played through1 group and caught smoother on the last hole. But it was almost like having the course to myself.

Great course

Greens had just been de-weeded. Other than bumpy greens, the course was great.

Lousiest course EVER!

This was by far the worst golf course I've ever played...and my playing partners agreed. The state of Shreveport golf must be in the worst shape ever...

Affordable golf and fun times

I very much enjoy playing this tract, The variation between hole requires you to think, which is attractive to me.

This course had bad greens

The greens at Shreveport country club were really bad. The speed and just the overall look of the greens were hard to look at. Idk if the rains hurt the greens but the course has been really let go from the previous times I've played here. The amount of money spent on the green fee is not worth it. But the tee boxes and fairways were in good shape just the greens and rough were hard to look at. I would suggest playing somewhere else till they can work on this course.

January Golf in Shreveport

My wife and I enjoyed this woodland course. We were lucky to play on an exceptionally warm January day. The course offered plenty of challenge and was in good condition given their recent heavy rains. The Bermuda greens and fairways were dormant but still in great shape for the middle of winter. I would play it again.

Nice Course

Shreveport CC is a very nice course. There were a lot of leaves, but you are going to find that on any course with oaks this time of year. Greens were much improved since last visit.
