Trying to make a tee time for Sunday I have 3 foursomes
Huge Improvements
The new owners have made huge improvements since taking over a few years back. The fairways have been totally reseeded and are as thick and lush as any in central Kentucky. The course is not the longest but the greens more than make up for it. The greens are well manicured, with challenging pin placements and lightening FAST! At $28 on a weekday, I challenge you to find a nicer course anywhere around.
Enjoyable Off-season Round
I enjoyed my off-season round. Conditions were satisfactory. However, during summer months, I could see areas where there may be concerns / issues. Unfortunately, they are aggressively de-bunkering the golf course, by filling in the bunkers.
Course has a very good routing and uses the elevation changes quite well. The tee shows on 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 18, etc. are scenic and fun.
Improvement needed
Let's start with the little things. Tee boxes were horrible. Most were really small, uneven and unmowed. Many were like hitting a shot out of the rough with a downhill lie. Could not replace divots in the fairway as all sand bottles were EMPTY. Apparently, no one repairs ball marks on greens. Greens were okay though playing partners thought they were too slow. Lost 5 balls in the rough, which wasn't deep, just really thick. Missing fairways by a few feet should not equate to losing balls, especially with four people looking for it. Better alternatives around.
Nicest public course in the area and best value.
Played with my brother and had the best time. He had never played course before and is looking forward to coming back and playing again. Course was in great shape and pace of play was less than four hours, so the four of us were quite happy.
Great time
Played in a scramble tournament and was done in less than 4 hours. Greens were perfect, fairways were nice shape. Staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Will certainly go back and play again in the near future.
course in horrible shape
Course in very poor condition, you'd be better off hitting a ball around your local park. Too many dandelions and other broadleaf weeds all over the grounds affecting the roll of your ball. Fairways mostly unmowed and unplayable and undefined. Only the greens are in good shape.
Evidently you picked a bad day. Now the course is in great shape. As you know it is a public golf course and a few of the players know nothing about fixing ball marks, Try it again.
