Sad to see the decline
I'm from Clarksville but live in Chicago now. I have played Novadell probably 8-10 times over the years. This is by far the worst experience I've had with this course.
Novadell has always been a pleasure to visit when I'm back home. It's a great alternative to Eastland Green if you don't want to go to Nashville to play. I often forget about Swan Lake.
I played a mid-morning round on Memorial Day weekend and the course was empty which I was excited about. However, the course has not been taken care of. The tee boxes were probably the nicest spots on the course. Fairways were indistinguishable, flat, hard, wrought with weeds, clover, etc. The greens were awful. They were not maintained, bumpy, spotty and ultimately I couldn't take putting too seriously because of it.
There were a variety of areas roped off, the second half of number 11 was roped off. Number 6, a 550+ par 5 was pulled all the way up to a 150 yard par 3...just all around disappointing.
I go back home several times a year and typically golf a couple rounds each time and I won't be back to Novadell until I hear some major changes are made.
Military Members Beware!
I recently moved to the Ft. Campbell area to a frequently deploying unit. When I discovered Novadell, I was extremely excited about the atmosphere at the club. A beautiful clubhouse and grill with great practice facilities and great equipment with outstanding discounts for members. I was eager to begin a membership and start taking advantage of the excellent deals. I openly explained to them that I was more than likely going to be deploying in the near future, but was interested in starting my membership with the stipulation that my payments would freeze when I deployed and restart when I returned. The management at Novadell was not excited to hear this. They came up with a "special" payment plan for me claiming that I was the first person to bring up this scenario. To their credit, I was told that April 2015 was the first membership year that the club had started a monthly payment plan for the annual membership so that may or may not have been true. Their plan was for me to pay an increased amount during typical golf season months and less during the winter months. I explained that I would rather pay the same monthly payment every month, as this is not the only bill I pay. I explained to management that my deployments cannot be predicted and I had been a member of multiple other golf clubs that simply freeze payments when you deploy and reinitiate them when you return #just like almost all other businesses that adhere to the Servicemember's Civil Relief Act#. This is not because they're required to do it, but because it's the right thing to do.
This is where the management became insulting. First of all, they implied that people #soldiers# could take advantage of this situation even though I was being open about my situation and offered to provide them a copy of certified deployment orders with an anticipated return date. What was even more disturbing was once I was able to sit down with management to discuss this, they disclosed that they have had several military members in the past pay a full years membership upfront without compensation if and when they had to deploy. That works out great for the club, but doesn't seem quite fair to the individual. Next, after telling me that my request would need to be discussed with the board members, the manager said to me that they might have to consider whether having a monthly payment plan is worth the trouble if people like myself #soldiers# were going to make this request. Despite all of this, I was still interested in giving this club my money, and I was told that the manager would speak with the board and call me back the next day. This was the third time a phone call was not returned to me and the last straw in my wanting to do business with this place.
The worst part of everything, however, as an avid golfer, was that despite multiple extremely polite and helpful staff members #Andrew, Kyler, the ladies who work at the grill#, great practice facilities, great instructional facilities, awesome food, great course layout, this course is in as bad of shape as any I have seen. Best of luck to anyone who decides to frequent/join this club. I thought the pros would outweigh the cons, but apparently management did not agree.
Novadell
Course was in poor condition. I was disappointed that they did not tell us when we called for tee time. We drove 90 miles one way to play. Many holes were cart path only because of bad fairways and reseeding. They should have let us know of the condition. I have played the course many times in the past a liked it. Very disappointing.
All you can hit balls at the driving for $8
Nice course. Pretty flat. In almost every hole If you hook it left or right you will be OB. For the long hitters there are a couple Par 4s that you can reach in one.
