Upset
This course has been closed for about four years. It is a mess; the owners give 0 care about golf. I have not played this course since 2017.
Surprising Course
Rarely am I caught by surprise by a course. But I was traveling through the area and found it almost by accident. Since their web page is tough to find, I didn't know what to expect. But hearing it used to be a private course for GM employees I figured I'd give it a look.
The design isn't going to knock your socks off, but it's very effective. The greens are heavily tilted and very fast. They were receptive to high approach shots but not chips. The course was is pretty good shape too, with only a couple of stray bare patches here and there.
Only concern was the pace of play. Their clientele seems to be on social security, and it appears they play there a lot. So they go at there pace and couldn't care less who is behind them. So be prepared for that and you can have a fun round.
Great get away for the day.
Overall a fun course to play. This course is back off the road so no houses or businesses close by. Can make for a relaxing enjoyable round. The front nine is much more flat than the back nine, which has some gentle rolling hills. About par for central Indiana. There are some interesting doglegs and creeks that come into play on the back nine. Best part is value for the money in my opinion.
Course is always well maintained: greens are true, fairways cut short, rough usually not too tall (especially in summer.)
Afternoon is best time to play to avoid morning rush.
Sad to say this course has closed as well.
