Conway Farms Golf Club sprawls across 209 lush, rolling acres in Lake Forest. While it may not be the landscape you associate with traditional Scottish golf, its tenets were deftly applied to the course by designer Tom Fazio. The 6,733-yard golf course is one of the area's most challenging, which is why it has hosted several major events over the years including the Big Ten Championship and U.S. Open Qualifying tournaments. Course management is the key to doing well, especially when maneuvering past the tall heather that frames the holes. There are also plenty of other hazards throughout, including a bevy of strategically placed bunkers. Conway Farms Golf Club sits on the site of a former farm, with the club's owners placing heavy emphasis on protecting and preserving the rich natural landscape and wildlife of the area.
