a must play golf course
When your in the Area
Or you have the opportunity
You must play this course
Great course
Out of the way for me, but a very nice, but challenging course for me.
Traditional layout, well maintained
This course has a great layout with a traditional feel. I play from the forward red tees and it played as long (5710) or longer than many courses do from white tees. There are large bunkers everywhere and some water. The bent grass fairways are perfect and the rough thick. Hit 'em straight!
Worth the hour and half drive!
We saw a 64percent savings at Plum Tree National and decided to drive over an hour to try it. Beautiful course. Very good condition. Electric carts needed attention..squeaky. we were a twosome and wanted to hook up with another twosome for better pace. Pro shop did not assist us..told us to ask at practice facility (not helpful)..we did hook up and glad we did because it was slow. Proshops should help with this. Granted I am a woman, and on this day, the only one on the course..but I am a very good, fast golfer. (so pairing up without seeing my ability is challenging..) It was slow, and no ranger on course. There was a refreshment cart on course...but a ranger and starter was needed more. Worth the drive...even with these issues!
this is one of the best courses i have ever played.
everything about the course is just awesome, from hole 1 to 18 just a perfect site. i can not say enough about how great it was to play.
great value
great value. but the bunkers were not maintained very well. they were on the course working on the bunkers I love this course , even better if bunkers were prestine
Challanging course/great value
One of the more challanging public courses in the area. Tree lined fairways many of which are bordered by natural areas. Not to mention an abundance of fairway bunkers. Greens are well protected by bunkers providing challanging approach shots. Recent rains allowed for short cut greens. The fast and undulating greens rolled true and still gave up a several one putts. Great course and value. Wish it was a little closer.
Needed a ranger to speed up play. Several groups past slower player.
Overall good round. Traps in bad shape due to recent rain. Beverage cart absent. Slow play last 4 holes. Foursome of women played slow backing up 3 groups. Needed a ranger.
This course has a lot of doglegs so if you like all your holes where you can see the green from the tee it ain't your cup o'tee.
A really nice course, well maintained with challenging holes for all levels. I'm a 15 hdcp and shot a 92 with the normal amount of bad shots. Played from 6400 yds, maybe should have moved up a tee. Electric carts are a plus to keep the noise down in a very wooded courses.
Nearly a disaster, course made up for it
After driving over an hour to play, the last thing I wanted to do was wait an extra 40 minutes before teeing off. Unfortunately, the understaffed course had an outing running (shotgun) nearly an hour late and wouldnt let any one of the three or four groups with tee times out until nearly 45 minutes after they had scheduled times. Fortunately the course was largely empty as a result otherwise this would have put 18 holes in serious jeopardy with the sun going down earlier in late August. Pro shop tried to be nice with a free bag of range balls but kept telling us "5 more minutes" for more than 45. In reality, should have gotten a refund for not getting out even close to our 334 tee time
Well maintain. Secluded. A hidden gem
Would definitely play again. Friendly people. Play this course outside of Harvard, IL.
Great course, worth the drive
The course is always in good shape and the times I've been there on a weekday afternoon, it's been pretty quiet and open. This past time was a little slower due to a Junior tournament, but otherwise it's a quick round. Greens are a little rough from previous players neglecting to fix their divots. Fair course.
Great course
Excellent course and great staff. Enjoy playing Plum Tree National.
Good layout & well maintained
Super variety of holes left & right dog legs and number of holes with water hazards in play.
Very good for the money.
Pro shop and club house are worn (tired looking). Grounds around the club house and pro shop look the same. The tees, greens and fair ways are very well maintained, however the traps need considerable attention.
The staff at the "refreshment bar" ,though competent, did ignore us until they took care of what was evidently regular customers.
Good course and layout
Nice golf course. Greens were fast and in good condition. Fairways and tee boxes are in good shape. Rough is a little under maintained and the bunkers, which they have a lot of, need more sand. Overall, nice place and I would recommend it
Tough greens
Plum Tree has always been a pleasure to play. Greens are always tough and a challenge to read. Highly recommend
