Solid Harry Collis Design
Course has a great layout and green sites. Conditions can be iffy but if you like older courses with unique greens then play it.
Best goat ranch around
Challenging course with nice layout. Just not maintained. Too bad. It use to be great.dand traps were all weeds and like concrete. Damaged greens. Lot of crab grass.
Had a good time for the price.
Country golf
Price was great on golfnow. The course was almost empty but still took over 5 hours to complete the round. This wa die to a sixsome and threesome in front of us that did not know anything about pace of play. Couple that with hay piles from the mowers and lost balls that were hit fairly well but unfindable under the cut grass and you get a horrible found if golf. The course would be better with more staff and better maintenance equipment.
Great place
This course was in great shape there was only one spot that was in rough shape. But the fairways are wide open makes it fun!
Longwood
Course is in bad shape, worse course I've played all year. Even with the rain, no upkeep.
Save you money play somewhere else. After the 4th hole I would have quit, Lost a dozen balls.
If you didn't hit the fairway, good luck finding your balls in the rough.
Terrible Shape they don’t care of if anymore
Never again
Worst course I have ever played, left after 6 holes couldn’t take it anymore.
Don’t Play Here
In receivership, hence not maintained.
450 yard par 4’s from the white tees. Seriously? Is this Bethpage black?
You lose your ball 1 foot off the fairway because the grass is over a foot high.
Horrible golf experience, only reason it got a 1 was I couldn’t give it a lesser nimber.
Ummmmmm
I love the layout of Longwood golf course, there’s not many courses in Illinois that offer the ups and downs like this course. However when I played around on June 11, it was quite possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had golfing. None of the fairways are cut, the rough is about 4 feet high and the greens are completely burnt. Sometimes I even had trouble finding my ball in the fairway, because of how long the grass Is. The greens were absolutely burnt. To the point where I had to move my ball 5 feet to even be able to read a line.
Lazy garbage
Played this for an outing. This is the worst golf course I’ve ever played. Golf course is in terrible condition. Greens are chewed up. Grass isn’t cut properly. Was there a fairway? I don’t know.. I’m not sure if I’d call those bunkers. You hit the ball 5 feet off what they call fairway and lose it under grass clippings. Staff was subpar. Let’s say this , I hope one of the bridges doesn’t collapse while you’re riding your cart over them. Frustrated considering I could tell the golf has potential. Overall, it’s like ownership simply doesn’t care
Longwood
Course was very wet and in rough condition. Greens were in bad shape and it was a tough round. Fairways were under water and sand traps were full of water.
Tiger Effect?????
Quit after 1 hour due to pace of play. It was an easy drive to the clubhouse being we were only on the 3rd tee. Unacceptable pace for any course, much less a course of this length. I guess 6 hour rounds are becoming the norm in Chicagoland/NWI.
Great layout but needs work
I play here a couple times a week. The course is very user-friendly but has a few holes that are challenging. The drawbacks involve upkeep. Cart paths and bridges are rough and greens are not in good shape. Overall, this is a great value and I would highly recommend it.
