Good 9 holer
Generally the course was very nice and the fellow in the pro shop very friendly and helpful.
The greens had been aerated recently and not fully healed and a bit shaggy. I assume this was just due to the time of year.
The course has two sets of tees so you could have some variation if you wanted to play 18. But the signage was a bit confusing if you just wanted to play 9. You could play the blue course or the white course, but the hole numbers didn't seem to match.
Minor. All in all, a very nice municipal course.
Hidden gem
We drove far to attend this 9 hole for the great price and Saturday morning time slot. As other people have reviewed, the course was in great condition and a very long 9 hole, 3000 yard I believe. Some par 4/5s felt like they could be 5 or 6’s!!! Carts were a little old and basic but tee boxes, greens and price were unbeatable. We will be back.
Hidden gem
Tons of sand in each bunker, very nice greens. Long par 4’s, could be par 5s.
Fairway Marker Poles
It is recommended that 150 Yard Marker Poles be installed on Par 4/5 holes.
Great course
Great course, good value, with the exception of some golfers trying to play the course twice and only paying once. We had a guy jump in front of us on the first nine, which we said nothing about. Then , on our replay , mind you we played behind a father and son for 8 holes with a decent pace. Out of nowhere this guy appears in the fairway out of nowhere and tries to convince us that he let the father and son play through. Why would you let someone play through on the ninth fairway? I guess the ranger figured it out too, the guy just wanted some free holes of golf and when he was called out he got angry and accused us of being racist. Please believe the good reviews, this is a great course!!!!
Harassment from ranger false accusations & racism
Course was backed up. I played with curticy as always. A man and his boy were behind me. On the 9th hole they passed me as I was waiting apparently out of view from them. I let them continue. Two guys behind them came up and harassed me for cutting in front of them. I let them play through to avoid conflict. Then the ranger pulled next to me and accused me of jumping around the corse. I had paid for 18 holes and showed him my receipt. He continued to harassing me until I left without finishing my game. Worst golf experience of my life. I will never return!!!!!!
A go to and a favorite.
This is one of my favorite courses and we usually play 18. It’s really challenge because of the water holes as well. The tee offs on #3 makes you think. The tee off on #8 is one of the hardest on any course. Long Par 4’s and 5’s. Conditions are really good. Some of my favorite putting greens too, especially #1 and #4. I have one career Eagle and that came on #4! With my friends out south we never hesitate when someone says let’s go to “East”. Also it’s not crowded some days so the pace of play is usually good.
Well groomed no geese poo everywhere. Clean and well kept. Pace was a bit slow but it was a nice day. Nice place for practicing your golf game
Chicago Heights East Course
I started coming to this course the year they built it. It was a great 9 hole course back then and still is. The course was in excellent shape from t box to fairway to the greens. Sand traps were in excellent shape also. The greens are slow but that’s bkuz the heat will dry them out if they were cut low. Highly recommended this course.
