First and last
Short staffed, for one.
The GM needs an attitude adjustment. Very short and rude.
Logan is helpful.
I was happy to find a course open this time of year. Sadly, not sure I would go back.
My friends spoke highly about the improvements they made the past year, it’s an okay course.
Forgiving yet Some Difficult holes
I am 25 yrs old and have been playing fairly sparingly the last couple of years. I am looking to playing at least once a week during the spring and summer. There are some fun holes on this course and many that have openings for slicing or hooking drives. Being Feb. 22, grass was muddy in a lot of spots, but the greens were in nice condition. I rarely track every stroke with honesty when I play l, but today and going forward I am going to do so. I shot a 96 today with a handful of short putts id like back. I will return soon to improve on this score and break 90.
Good one for a quick round
Pleasant for a good score round and fast.
Many short par four hole for low score, I got my lowest score
This course has lots of challenging.
This course is not crowed. That’s why very smooth for me.
Awful greens…
The greens were not ready for players. I usually take early morning tee times due to the improved pace of play. Usually the starters prevent us from teeing off early because the landscapers are taking care of the course. At this course, the landscaper was two holes behind us, so as a result the greens were all soaked and it was a complete waste of money. If you choose to golf here, don’t go early in the morning! Worst experience all summer.
Love the course that keeps disappointing
I love Valley Ridge and it’s disappoints me at the same time. The conditions have just declined over the years. It’s generally in good shape, but the golfers do a terrible job of fixing their divots so the greens are average at best. Sand is basically non-existent in most bunkers. The cart paths are atrocious and bordering on dangerous in spots. It still retains its Muni feel but the course itself needs some upkeep. All that being said it’s a fun course to play especially when pace of play isn’t killing it. Holes 6 and 16 will be the most memorable, but some the short par 4’s are fun if you’re eagle searching. It’s a short track that can be a fun 3 hours or long and horribly paced 5.5 depending on who’s playing that day. I’ll always come back because it has a special place in my golfing heart, but the visits will be rare when similar dollars will get better pace of play in the area.

We understand your concerns about divots, bunker sand, and the cart paths, and we will make it a priority to address these issues. We're glad to hear that you still find the course fun to play, especially when the pace of play is good. Thank you again for your review and for your continued support of Valley Ridge.

I will never play here again.
Lots of comments about "rude employees" in these reviews. YEP. I had 8 people trying to play here Tuesday, June 27, 2023. I called and made the reservation, and was told there were leagues that day, but as long as we had reservations before 2:00 we would be able to play 18 holes. I even called a second time (different day, different employee answering the phone I think) since my people were making a big effort to get together to play. "We will be able to play 18 holes with the 1:48 and 1:57 tee times we have?" "Yes, no problem". So we get there on the actual day and the girl at the bar (where we are supposed to pay for our greens fees... bad sign!) says "Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you can only play nine holes". After many of my friends drove an hour to get there! Then we ask if we can play one nine twice, since we're trying to get our "event" in, she says maybe, but she needs to ask the "Manager". She brings this guy out and he must be the rude person people are talking about (or the leader of many of these types). I tell him what I wrote above, and he says "Our staff didn't say that". And I'm like "Do you think I'm hearing things, or making this up?" He says "A lot of people claim our staff has said things they never said". OH MY GOODNESS. Nice response. So I'm either insane or a liar, right? Anyhow, the guy is completely non-accommodating. Not concerned about our plight at all. So we booked somewhere else on 6/27/23.
BUT, I have played there before many times.
Here are some reasons you might want to play Valley Ridge Golf Course:
* Fun layout at a reasonable price.
* You like the jeans-wearing sort of crowd, with no judgement (in fact laughter) on bad shots.
* You want to be in a league made up of this sort of person.
Here are the reasons I'm never playing there again:
* Because I TOLD the "Manager" we would never be coming back if he didn't try to help us. He didn't care.
* Extremely slow pace quite often.
* Extremely dry/poor conditions often.
* The course is set up to make money from these "good old boy" golfers who aren't anything close to good golfers. Now I certainly hit my share of bad shots, but as the saying goes, "Play well, play fast. Play poorly, play faster". The golfers at Valley Ridge do NOT follow this credo.
We apologize for the negative experience you had with our staff regarding your reservation and the miscommunication that occurred. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and we will address the issue to ensure better service in the future. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

Valley Ridge
Friendly staff
Poor signage in multiple locations
Be careful playing here, several holes are lined up next to each other, making it common for other groups to be hitting in your fairway.

Valley Ridge…
Beautiful scenery and challenging holes. Course could use a good watering. Tee boxes hard! Hammer in tees. We are in a drought-worth mentioning. No cart person (concessions) on course. And no starter nor ranger/s/.
Noted single sand doubles playing. Yet overall pace of play wasn’t bad! Definitely wil play again!👍
