Hualalai Golf Club has the distinction of being Hawaii's first Nicklaus design. Situated amidst dramatic lava fields, the landscape provides stunning scenery on every hole. The course has an interesting variety of holes with some that play alongside the coast and others that play along rolling hills. The back nine features a pair of par 3s, one that plays into the ocean and the other is nestled inland. The tricky 12th hole has a large green that is divided into four smaller greens by a bunker that sits right in the middle. The golf course finishes with not one but two signature holes. Like the 12th, the par-3 17th isn't long but it requires accuracy with intimidating bunkers surrounding the green. Hualalai Golf Club's final hole is seaside as well, with intimidating bunker surrounding the green.
