Dramatic experience

A cold and windy afternoon, but I enjoyed every minute of it. A very dramatic design, well trapped very hilly. Demanding layout, but if you are striking the ball well (as I was that day) it was fair. Unparalleled views, especially on the back nine. Friendly staff, I recommend this course.

Overpriced

Nice course, but absolutely not worth $168. Cateechee and Chimney Oaks both nearby, and a fraction of the cost have as good if not better conditions. The good…Fun par 5’s and the view from #10 tee is hard to beat.

Best views in Georgia, secluded setting, great facilities

The views alone are worth playing this course, but it's a great championship track with great greens and true challenge on top of that. Excellent dining and cabins. Staff was more than accommodating and the secluded feel of the holes is very special. I could play 10-14 over and over and never get tired.

Worth the trip from Atlanta or Greenville.

Outstanding roller coaster ride

Beautiful course that features an up and down twisting set of holes that will keep you challenged all day long. Course was in excellent condition, clubhouse is quite elegant and the staff especially friendly and accommodating. Bent greens held well and had just the right amount of speed. But there are very few straightforward holes and most of those that are have a water hazard that the approach shot must content with. While the downhill par 5 1st gives you a chance to start your round off on the right foot, the par 4 18th that seems to travel straight uphill gives you all you want for a finishing hole. The par 3s are all solid. All in all, a course definitely worth a return visit.

Beautiful but treacherous!

Currahee is a beautiful private golf club community on the West end of Lake Hartwell on the Georgia/South Carolina border that sits high above the water. The views here are unbelievable, however you can't let the views distract you from your game as the golf course is extremely difficult. The course has some drastic elevation changes and is very tight in some places. The most difficult part of the course was its greens. They were probably the fastest I have ever played and it honestly was like putting on glass. When you combine the elevation and severe undulation on super slick greens, you get a recipe for really high scores. Otherwise, the layout is a lot of fun and the conditions and views are second to none.

If you have a chance, stick around and have a meal and beer in the clubhouse or on the patio with some of the best views on the property!
