A true US Links Course

First time playing and was excited to try it our. Being a links layout, it could use some signage to mark tees, otherwise you are dependent on a map if you can find one. Super small greens, challenging angles, but don't go without a map.

Fun 9 hole course

This course has a great layout. The fifth hole is a fun par five with a few of the holes overlooking the ocean. The course could improve its condition but overall a nice course.

Historic 9 hole Course with Great Layout

Historic Walter Travis designed 9 hole course. Played in a driving rain and wind and had a blast! Loved the layout and greens. Course has a lot of character and unique holes from the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th holes. Views of ocean from 5 and 6 are great.

Great place to work on your game. Perfect for beginners and a casual walking round. Greens are small with surprising slope for a relatively flat course.

Called and Al was so rude

Called to get course details, spoke to Al. whoever he is. When told him I was handicapped< he said I have to play before 12pm because they don't let out carts after then. Im a veteran< and I will tell you this< Al needs training in Not being Rude. He sounded like a total jerk. Snob at that.

Fantastic Experience

My wife and I were staying on St. Simons Island and decided to spend a day on Jekyll Island. We are very glad that we made the short drive because this golf course was one of the best experiences of the week. The staff is very accommodating and super friendly. We played the Oleander course which is challenging, but fair. The scenery is amazing with many holes near the water and plenty of wildlife. The course conditions were in great shape, but much different than what we are used to in Kentucky. This is a must play when visiting the Golden Isles. We will definitely be back!

Fun and scenic historic golf course

This was my first time playing this 9 hole course on historic Jekyll Island and I was pleasantly surprised. There was not a lot of traffic ahead or behind me on the course which allowed me to play at my own pace. The course is not overly difficult but is fun to play with scenic views on hole #5 green and hole #6 tee box. The price was very reasonable so I decided to play another 9 when finished and was only charged $12.

Great Fun

My first time playing the course, it was really fun playing golf here, some really nice holes and with some good placement of the ball you can score well. We had fun playing golf here.

Tiny greens and some really unique challenges

One of my favorite courses. The tiny greens and tight surroundings of several of the greens make this a very challenging course. I play for the challenge not the score, and I get my money's worth. The approach up a hill and between the trees to the 5th green is the ultimate. It is even harder if you are in the wrong place. Then the 6th hole is a short par 3 tight on both sides with the smallest green I have ever seen and a trap guarding most of the front of the green. I'll play here often.

Love the Georgia coast

This is a low-keyed, deceptively easy course. One of the biggest difficulties is to find your way from hole to hole. The signage is rare and the holes seem to be squeezed together in a space-saving, but somewhat confusing way. In one hole the rough is almost impossible to avoid and even a good shot to its green is invisible to the player. Still, as an intermediate golfer, I enjoyed the challenges and will certainly play Great Dunes again.

NN-practicing

This is a nice practice course in that it is not very long but the greens are smaller, making it more difficult.
Fairways and greens are in nice condition too.

It's interesting this course has no cart paths. Enjoy!

SMALLEST GREENS I EVER PLAYED

This is a fun 9 hole track with the smallest greens I have ever played on. #6 is really small. #5 is a pretty little par 5 that has a great view from the green. Great Dunes isn't as manicured as the other Jekyll courses, but it is a lot of fun. I really enjoyed playing it for the first time. The history of the course is also very interesting.

Great 9 holer

The course had standing water in places so no electric carts , greens where average speed , tee boxes need cutting but since it has been so wet they were unable to cut I assume . Will definitely play again .

Most difficult 9 holes on the island.

This is a great, old course. The greens are small so accuracy is paramount. The layout is interesting and a bit tricky.
