Hunter's Green Country Club
About
Hunter's Green Country Club was carved from native wetlands and pine forests, taking full advantage of the lush Florida landscape. Tom Fazio designed the picturesque golf course. There are carefully placed sand bunkers throughout and water comes into play on a few holes. The golf course finishes with one of its most demanding holes. This par 4 plays over an expansive water hazard with a narrow landing area that demands accuracy. If you manage to hit to the right avoiding the water, there is a long bunker waiting for you. If you hit to the left, there is a densely wooded area next to the cart path to be cautious of. If you decide to leave the driver in the bag and hit a fairway wood or rescue club you will be left with a long approach to an island green.

Great Private Track
This course was in fantastic condition. Measuring around 6800 yards from the tips to just below 6000 yards from the forward tees, it will surely be a challenge for any golfer of any skill level. The greens keepers do a great job keeping up the facility, however the best part of it all were the bunkers. Every single bunker I saw was in fantastic shape. Membership options are VERY affordable. If you get a chance to play this course do not pass it up
Good Course - but
Course was in good shape but signs directing you to the next hole were no where to be seen. Good that I was with someone who had played the course otherwise I would have gotten lost. Men's room on course was dirty...looked like it hadn't be service in a long while. Water stations were few....remember one on the 17th hole....no beverage cart. Driving range and putting green in good shape. No starter, no ranger. Pace of play was good.
Hunter's Green Country Club
Hunter's Green Country Club is a Southern Comfort. This Tom Fazio course is a well designed part of the club's lifestyle, rather than a destination golf course. Hunter's Green Country Club has a charming clubhouse which is inviting, plush, and full of excitement. The club is dedicated to enhancing it's members' and guests' enjoyment and fun, through hard work, customer satisfaction, and attention to detail. It is the kind of place that is easy to get to, but hard to leave. Beyond the the tennis courts, Olympic swimming pool, basketball, volleyball, and racquetball courts, there is an impressive exercise room, fine dining room, and a cocktail lounge. The atmosphere here is light, fresh, and exciting, with a hint of gingerbread spice that is a compilation of management's ideas and success.
The crown jewel of the club is its golf course. The course is challenging, but not brutal or intimidating. From the Gold tees the course measures 7059 yards with a 73.3/ 133 slope rating. I played the Blue tees which measured 6622 yards and has a 69.9/ 129 slope rating. There are 5 sets of tee boxes for golfers of all skill sets. The day I played was sunny with very little wind. The course has rolling Bermuda fairways which are narrow, but not tight. The strategically placed bunkers and water hazards enhance the beauty of the natural terrain and add visual excitement to each hole. The greens are impeccable and relatively fast. The overall condition of the course is impressive and pleasing. Water comes into play on 10 of the 18 holes. My favorite holes are #4, #10 and #18. For me they are what I call signature holes. The course is fun to play, and most enjoyable after the round with a ice cold brew.
Helpful notes:
There is not a lot of rough, so don't expect your ball to slow down if it is heading towards OB or hazards.
On the doglegs, if you can see homes, then the OB markers are closer than you think or expect to the fairways!
When hitting into the green, remember there is nothing but bad news over the back of the green.
I enjoyed Hunter's Green and would recommend it for other golfers.
One Happy Golfer
