The Wanamaker Course at PGA Village in Port St. Lucie was formerly known as the South Course and its sister course, the Ryder Course, was known as the North. The 54 holes of championship golf available at PGA Village have made it one of Florida's most popular golfing destinations. It even holds a spot in Golf Digest's "75 Best Golf Resorts." Design legends Pete Dye and Tom Fazio laid out all of the holes. The Wanamaker Course takes its new name from the New York City department store magnate who inspired the birth of the PGA of America in 1916, Rodman Wanamaker. The layout, which is considered one of the Sunshine State's most beautiful, is the epitome of classic Florida golf featuring a backdrop of wetlands, palm trees, and palmettos.
