The Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass was built with spectators in mind. It is the original stadium-style course that allows for easy viewing during play. Pete Dye designed the golf course and routed it so no two consecutive holes play in the same direction. The challenging layout features Scottish links-style bunkers, treacherous sand traps, and water hazards. There is a good variety of holes that range from short to long and there are also right and left doglegs. The Stadium Course is home to one of the most widely talked about and recognizable holes in all of golf, the par-3 17th, known for its infamous island green.
