Rating 71.2

Innisbrook's South course, at just over 6,600 yards, is reminiscent of a links-style design, both in terms of rolling terrain and numerous fairway bunkering. Ample waste bunkers, a total of 10 water hazards, undulating terrain, and Gulf of Mexico breezes all combine to make South another great Innisbrook challenge.

Innisbrook South Course

Played this course as part of the “Diamond Package”. Unfortunately this course is not only not a Diamond but barely qualifies as a rock. Fairways were barren, tee boxes were worn, traps/bunkers were poor. The greens were brown but fast and smooth. The course conditions were probably worse than the worse muni I have ever played. We were supposed to play this course twice but after complaining to the resort they canceled the second round and rescheduled us on the Island Course.

A comfortable last day of trip course.

Just long enough for a 13 handicap 73-year-old male golfer. Open fairways , no overhanging trees to block your T- shots. the golf course is right in front of you no blind shots, flat greens. Well taken care of course. Friendly staff, enjoyable par threes that are reachable without swinging hard. Enjoyable scenery. Wildlife is incredible. a great large vacation golf group destination.

Horrible condition

I purchased two Group Golfer vouchers about a month ago for Innisbrook Golf Resort which cost me $147.00 per voucher. Needless to say I was anxious to play at Innisbrook where the Pros play. A bunch of hype is abut all I can say about it. I was totally blown away with the conditions of the South course. Greens were HORRIBLE, HAIRY, LUMPY and down right DISGUSTING. I couldn't believe I paid $294.00 for two vouchers to play a downright disgusting course at Innisbrook--of all places. Don't pay any attention to all the hoopla about these courses at Innisbrook. before checking them out. The South course should cost no more than $40.00 and that's stretching it a bit. On top of playing a HORIBLE course we were behind a "SLOW" foursome who wouldn't give us the courtesy to come through. Two of the gentlemen was hitting from the White tees and two from the Red tees. Not one of them hit the ball more than 15 to 20 feet off the tee box. Then we had to wait while they hit up to seven or eight times before ever reaching the green. Just a HORRIBLE experience today....the only good positive thing we gain from our outing, is that it was a beautiful day. I'm frustrated and feel like I wasted a lot of money on a piece of "crap" for a golf course when we could have played many other course in the area for a better price and a better round of golf. Never ever will I return to Innisbrook for anything. I even expressed my dissatisfaction with an elder woman in the Pro shop upon completion and all she said was, "I'm sorry." She offered no restitution what so ever--not even a sleeve of balls. She gave me a card with the Head Pro name who I called before writing this review, and have not heard from him.....and don't expect too. What a waste of money.....beware to all who plan on playing one of the courses at Innisbrook. There are so many other NICE courses in the area for less money.

Poor condition

First of all I bought a $196 foursome deal on groupon for the island course of which I called monday morning and was already booked for the whole week so they offered me the north or south course. The employees were courteous and helpful but the greens were slow and horrible not unlike the fairways which were bad also. This was my first and last time to play Innisbrook most courses for $20 are in better shape.

Second best Innisbrook course

After having played the resort's other three courses a couple years ago, I was pleasantly surprised by the South when I played it after they debuted their redone greens. The courses is in two pieces, starting and ending in flattish, tree-lined fashion with a large interlude of open, hilly holes in the middle of the round. There are strong holes in both of these areas of the course, which makes its dual nature less jarring. In general the course is quite playable, which helps give it the edge over the Island for second-billing behind the mighty Copperhead.

Fun Course in Good Condition - Expected more for $200

This is the first time I have played this course. I have never played any of the Innisbrook courses.

The first four holes seem like typical Florida golf, holes, but starting with the fifth hole until the 17th, the course has kind of a links feel with fun and challenging bunkering, mounds and a wide-open look and surprisingly quite a bit of elevation changes. Hole #8 is a great and challenging par 5 and has some beautiful homes near the green.

The greens were very small and well protected, with lots of slopes and undulations which make them challenging. The greens rolled great and were well taken care of. The bunkers were all well manicured, raked and great to play out of.

The course was in very good condition, but I was expecting a lot more for paying $200 to play the course. I was amazed at the bare and dead spots of grass near the greens and other areas for $200. It is more of a $100 course rather than $200 course.

South at Innisbrook

The south course has a very good track. First 4 holes is more like a Florida course. Holes 5-13 are a wide open links course. Holes 14-18 are more of a Florida course also. Pro shop dated, small range, bad practice facility. Course was not in great shape but playable. Weedy greens, bad tee boxes (especially number 4). Also, no water stations on the course AT ALL. Went to go open my water cooler, finding one full bottle and one empty bottle, no ice. No cart gps or green map. Only good thing I could say is the fairways were in phenomenal shape and the staff was very friendly. If your staying at the resort or are a guest, play the other three courses. They are by far better.

Tale of two courses; harder than it looks

The first few holes seem like typical Florida golf, but from the fifth hole to the 17th, the course opens up with somewhat of a links feel with interesting bunkering, mounds and a wide-open look. At 6,400 yards, this par-71 isn't particularly long, but play it from the back tees, and there's plenty of golf course. The South Course also complements the other three courses at Innisbrook Resort, which includes the famed Copperhead Course, also designed by Larry Packard.
