Hidden fees
made reservation on golf now like any other time ,Got to the course & was charged more than i paid for the golf ,for a cart .that was not clearly posted on the deal? very bad buisness practice
Great layout, in really good position.
This course was a really.nice surprise. Fair, open but still plenty of challenge. Greens were in good shape except a couple had some clump grass, but they rolled nice. I’d recommend the course to any level of golfer.
Enjoyable value
We had a great time playing this course. It was fair for our foursome two advanced players and two learning players. Pace was under 4 hours greens we in good shape and played fast.
We will revisit before we head home this month
Great layout and pace of play.
This course offers a really fun layout and pace of play was great. Staff was friendly and the carts are newer and fast! My only complaint is some greens have quite a bit of crabgrass. Hopefully, that will be treated. That being said, I’ll certainly book here again soon!
GolfNow should fix this
I, too, was caught with the $23- cart fee. Worse, I brought a friend and praised Pine Lakes all the way down from Jacksonville. I picked up the extra 46- for the cart but I won't be back. To make matters worse, we had to follow a slow, walking foursome who lived locally and refuse to pay the cart fee (which was always included on a Hot Deal).
Also, while I'm at it, the Hot Deal now requires 2 or 4 golfers so I cannot play as a single. For the total price of >$40-, I'll just play at the Royal or the Shores in St. Augustine and not bother with the travel.
Oh, the course is in pretty bad condition, too,
What happened to the greens?
This course was in sad shape the last few years and then made a 100% turnaround in the last few months and now it seems to be slipping back to bad shape. What happened to the greens? They were good the last few months and now they are in bad shape. Many weeds and bare spots turning up. Do they have a competent greenskeeper?
Crab grass on the greens
The picture is where I found my ball on #15. I was unaware that there are sandtraps in the middle of greens. Some of the back 9 greens have so much crabgrass on them that your putt bounces to the hole. Sorry Pine Lakes but I will not be back. Your either going under or you need a new superintendent.
Great Layout
OK. Let's start with the condition of the course. The tee boxes and fairways were in very good condition. These Northerners need to understand that they are playing on Bermuda grass. This is not the thick carpet grass you find in Michigan, etc. It's is a very short, almost sparse grass. This is how it is in Florida. So just expect it. The greens were average and 2 greens need work due to that lilly pad type weed you see here at times. But it will get fixed. And the other greens were not bad but a bit slow. Arnold Palmer designed this course and the layout is excellent. It is worth playing for 50 bucks as this is high season.
Just one issue. Tee off special price was 22$. In the past it has included a cart. This round did not include. Had to pay $46 for it. This is an absolute overcharge and brought my overall cost to the same as a walk- in golfer would get.
misscomunication
first the greens had been coming back nicely but now crabgrass is come up making some greens unputtable #10 as example
problem with booking
if you book by clicking on a hot deal at the top of the tee time listing NO warning comes up stating this was a $20 walking rate me and 1 other in the group book this way. If you book by going down the list and click on the 1pm tee time you must select which rate you want and it does say $20 walking rate.
After complaining the the guy behind the counter and the owner would not give us a cart even though we were not warned by GN. He said a cart would be $23 dollars each, the most expensive cart fee I have ever encountered. Carts aren't ever gold plated for that fee. Could of offered us a cart at a discount but no.
At one point a few months ago I inquired about membership guess what that will not happen ever!
GN fix your web site
Dissapointing
The coarse has so much potential. Just not taken care of.
Tee boxes are weedy.greens are being over run by weeds.you can’t putt without it jumping and bumping all over.
Pace of play horrible. Had a twosome,a single and a single in front of us. They would not join up and move along.waited on every tee box. No ranger .
The employees here were very nice. Lunch in the lounge was very good.
I booked the tee time a week before. After I booked they added walking only. I showed the pro shop my receipt and he said it was not good. He could not show me any information. He said it would be $23 more for a cart.
