PGA National Resort & Spa boasts five 18-hole courses, all of which were designed by big-name architects including Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Tom Fazio. The resort, home to the PGA Tour's Honda Classic, is one of south Florida's premier golfing facilities. The Fazio Course, formerly known as the Haig, was completely renovated in 2012. Originally designed by George and Tom Fazio in 1980, another generation of the family, Tom Fazio II, directed the course renovation. The greens and teeboxes were reconfigured but the original par-72 routing was kept in tact, seamlessly blending classic golf architecture with modern design. The golf course was lengthened to over 7,000 yards and the bunkers were reshaped. Like the original design, water is still a prominent feature and it is still a shot-maker's layout that requires accuracy and good course management.
