Not bad at all

The previews reviews on golfadvisor made it seem like this course was atrocious, but it is definitely not the case. Yes it does have a feel of a typical residential Florida course especially in the front 9, but it is not as narrow and it doesn't have as many doglegs as other residential courses. I liked the back 9 a little more as it seemed to be more wide open; more like a resort style course with nice features and mature trees in some of the holes. The one negative was that the greens were punched so most of the putts didn't hold the line or hold the right speed, making it for a pretty frustrating round. I can't wait to try out the other course to see how they compare to Fazio.

Course is dull, uninspiring

This is a typical Florida resort course: flat, monotonous holes with houses/condos lining them.

It is the lack of imagination within the course that makes me surprised Fazio has his name attached to it.

The conditioning leaves a lot to be desired and is nowhere near what is found at the resort’s signature Champions course. With a price tag of $250, I am shocked they get that for a round. I can only conclude that it is a result of the conference/convention business that constantly runs through the resort. I would pass on a round here unless you are on an expense account.

Fairly typical Florida resort/residential golf

The Fazio is a solid if unspectacular resort option for PGA National guests. Part of the four-course main complex, it proceeds in two loops from the main non-Champion practice facility. Corridors are fairly narrow, meaning you'll often be better off hitting less than driver off the tee.

If you can keep it in play, you should enjoy the medium-sized, medium-contoured greens, which tend to be well-bunkered. Water comes into play several times as well. It won't change your life, but it's a nice enough spot for a round if you're staying at the resort.

Fun Course Layout in Great Condition

This was my first time playing the Fazio course at PGA National.

The Fazio Course is a typical resort course. The course was in excellent condition (other than a few bunkers with very little sand in the bottom). The weather was very hot and beautiful and the pace of play was excellent. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in great condition.

The course is not overly difficult. The holes are pretty straight forward and you can see where you are going (except a few dog legs where you can not see the green from the tee box). There is water on a a lot of the holes, but it's not overwhelming.

The front nine twists and turns and has more dogleg holes than does the back nine. I really liked the course. The customer service and facilities are great. The only drawback is in order to play any of the PGA National courses you have to be a member or you have to stay at the resort.

Fazio - Not Worth the Money

Florida golf is super cheap in the summer and goes through the roof as soon as the snow birds return.  I played the Fazio Course at PGA National, in Palm Beach in August with a nice group from Meet Up and paid $40+ and returned in October 29, 2016, only to get a group corporate rate at $175.  Yikes! </span>

The Fazio course was in good shape and pace of play was terrific, but it wasn’t worth $175.  I figure I could have played 3-5 rounds at other comparable courses for the price of that round at PGA.

The weather was hot and rained a bit in August, and in October it was overcast, low 80s with a pleasant breeze.

The course is remarkably straight forward and not overly difficult. Water comes into play on a number of holes, I found the water on several.  I was in the bunkers more than the water, thankfully.

Finishing 18, we headed for the club house to be greeted by an over-priced menu and served with plastic cups and tableware.  Really, a resort can’t afford to use silverware and glasses.  But adding insult to injury ($$$), the Nachos are made with Velveeta Cheese - unbelievable!

The PGA Fazio Course at Palm Beach, FL gets a triple bogey rating!

Classic Resort Fare

The Fazio Course at PGA National is classic resort fare. It was in good shape, the weather was beautiful and the pace of play was good.

The course is not overly difficult. There is water on a number of holes, but it's not overwhelming. The front nine twists and turns a lot so it could be easy to get in trouble with the many doglegs. The back nine is more gentle with the bends.

Be very careful with the drive on 18, there's water all the way up the left and basically no buffer between the fairway and the hazard.
