Bay Hill: Championship

Description

Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Fla. opened in 1961 and earned worldwide acclaim in 1976 after it was purchased by Arnold Palmer. Situated on the site of a former orange grove along the Butler Chain of Lakes, Bay Hill is comprised of three nine-hole courses - Champion, Challenger and Charger. In 2009 the Champion and Challenger nines underwent an extensive reconstruction and reopened later that year. Changes include more visible bunkers, flatter greens that allow hole locations to be cut closer to water hazards, and greens rebuilt and reseeded with Emerald Bermudagrass. The course is only open to club members and guests of the 70-room lodge.
