The Eagles Golf Club - Forest
About
Designed by Ron Garl and Gary Koch, the Forest Course at The Eagles Golf Club features the signature island-green sixth hole which rivals the famous 17th hole at the TPC at Sawgrass. The two outstanding championship courses at The Eagles Golf Club are kept in "tournament condition" year-round. As its name implies, much of Forest course winds through an impressive pine forest.

Solid Course
Challenging layout, with plenty of water. Course conditions were just average, which is expected this time of year. Will definitely come back. Our starter on the Forest course was extremely friendly and made our experience enjoyable.
Greens.
Fairways and tee boxes in pretty good shape for this time of the year and the amount of play this course gets. The greens were not as good as I think they should be. But it is Florida and there has been a drought. Apparently there are also some spots with an invasive species of grass contaminating the greens. Some bare spots too.
Beautiful course...a little beat up in spots
Played March 12 with 2 nice people. Loved the layout similar to a SC low country course. Tee areas were a bit chewed up as well as some landing areas on fairways. Given the time of year this is understandable. Easy course to score well. A bit pricey but a track I will definitely play again. Not to be overlooked if you're a mid/low handicap looking for a fun course that will make you pay attention.
Not worth playing the Lakes Forrest course.
The greens were atrocious. Probably the worst greens that I have played on in Tampa. Greens have large bare dirt spots on almost all holes not to mention trying to navigate around all the huge grass and weed spots on the greens.
Decent course
The course had a nice layout. A little scruffy in spots but overall challenging but playable. A lot of water for a course named the Forest. I would play it again.
Great Layout
The Forest course is my favorite at the eagles. The conditions aren’t perfect, but overall seems to be in better shape than the lakes course. The layout of the different holes are great and require some thought to get around. Love playing this course, especially in the afternoon when pace of play usually is not an issue. I played as a twosome at 3:00PM and finished by 6:30PM
Good course but overbooked
Money hungry! Course is definitely overbooked so be prepared to wait at every hole.
Not looking to go back
The reason that I say that is because on the day we played there was a outing on the Lakes course ,shotgun start at 1:00 so the players on the lakes course that did not get to play out their 18 holes came to the Forest course and backed up the tee times for the rest of us so we not only got a late start we could only get in 13 holes ' because of 3 or 4 groups on most holes . I feel this is poor management of the course by booking too many players on the Lakes course that could not finish there 18 holes and also most of us that had tee times around 1pm could not get carts until after our tee time, So check before you book there !
Pace of Play
HORRIFIC pace of play. We teed off > 40 minutes past our tee time. Cart wasn’t available for our tee time. Thankfully we had only signed up and paid for 9 holes, because those nine holes took us, a twosome shooting at or just over par on the front 9 > 2.5 hours.
Awful pace of play
Somehow they didn’t have enough carts, so everyone’s tee time was delayed by at least an hour. Course books too many tee times too close together which really hurts golfer satisfaction.
Over 5 hours
Round took over 5 hours, areas was nice, greens not in great shape. I will play the excutive course the next 2 weeks I am in Clearwater because pace of play.
It's a beautiful design, the fairways and teeboxes are in good shape, but most of the greens were in rough shape - bare spots, crabgrass, areas of some sort of fungal infection. Pretty disappointing. No rakes for the Sandtraps, esp fairway bunkers.
Was there that day. Miserable. Shared mats with 3 others at range. Greens were dreadful
