Bad Conditions
Unless you are 6 inches from the hole, you're lucky to sink a putt because the greens are so lumpy and slow!!!
I'm concerned that I won't be able to putt on a real course after playing this course a few times. However, you can't beat the price here in Naples so if you're out to enjoy the beautiful weather and don't care about the golf, then this is the perfect course.
nice layout and working to improve course conditions
As an executive golf course Riviera has an excellent layout They are working on the greens to make them better.
Riviera Golf Course
The setting and location are fine. However the course is in poor condition and the green are terrible.
getting better
temp greens are gone for now, some greens need seeding. staff is very friendly and seems to be improving the conditions but i notice alot of people dont take the time to sweep their traps or sand their divots. i love the course and play weekly, just wish some other players did their part to help the condition continue to improve.
regardless cant beat the price for a good practice course
Work on your game @ Riviera
For less than $1.00 per hole, I was able to work on all aspects of my game. Unlike every other course in Naples at this time of year - it wasn't crowded or nasty. This is not a Ritz-Carlton/Marriott or private Country Club. Several of the greens are under repair and featured temporary greens. Keep your expectations in line with reality. Have fun!
Fun small course
I used every club in my bag and had a great time playing
Tender loving care
This course would need alot of tender loving care, greens are temporary, fairways would need to be re-seeded all in all could be an excellent executive course if it was updated and some money would be invested in the course
Catch 22
Nice people run the place. Looks like they’re trying to improve conditions as half greens are temporary. Need support to put money into course. Could be a nice spot
My experience.
The course was in despicable condition. Eight greens were essentially grass fairways. None of the ball washers worked- all the handles were broken off. It was a par 3 course and billed as a regular 18 hole layout which was totally inaccurate and a lie. The course does not meet the standards of an 18 hole course. It was a pitch and put event. 18 holes took us 90 minutes. It was the worst example of a “golf course “ my wife and I ever played on, If we had not prepaid for the waste of time I would have asked for my money back. Rating = F-.
Set Expectations
If you set your expectations correctly then you will enjoy yourself. The course is under going a lot of maintenance. All flags are temporarily located off the greens which makes the course shorter. If you want to get out and practice your mid and short game plus walk the course, it is enjoyable. Even if you ride keep the same expectations.
Great Course to have fun and not cost a ton
We really liked playing this course. It is not in the best shape but is really fun to make some of the challenging shots. They are reseeding the greens so we played fairway greens. All of the Greens are elevated and when they let you use them the course will be even more challenging. You have water and dog legs, trees to tend with. all making your shots fun. We will be playing this course more as the season goes on. Kim the Course manager is GREAT! She is super friendly and helpful.

Worse Shape
This course is never in good shape, but with temporary greens it is in very poor shape. Putting is a joke!!!
You get what you pay for, and I'm glad I did
I played this course and the staff was amazing. I'll be honest here the course is in process of getting new seed and greens. Played 18 went straight to the pro shop and paid for another 18. This doesn't look like a naples course, but is definitely my new favorite executive course. If your looking for 5 star golf at 20 bucks you'll never find it or be happy. Wanna pay 15-25 bucks & get cheap beers and have a good time this is the course for you.
BAD SHAPE!!!
This course doesn’t deserve a half star rating….
Perhaps one day long ago it was decent, though not now. Booked on Golf Now and paid more than anyone should. Learned a lesson, never assume you’re getting a bargain when booking with them.
Disappointed.
Believe me it sounds good but not worth the $20
On the good side, the person in the prefab clubhouse was extremely friendly and informative. Also the actual course layout really was ok. Clearly one of the earlier designed courses in the area...and from what the person working in the shop indicated there used to be a line out the door to play. Now for the bad, I would be ashamed if I were an owner of this course, to take money from people to play it. $20 is a great deal to play most courses w/ a cart, but when you can't putt the ball because the grass on the greens is so high and there was more dirt in some of the fairways than grass. In short, I would much rather have paid a few more dollars and even drove a little further (even the National in Ave Maria @ $25 for example) than have wasted my $20 on this sandbox. If you don't want to be in the golf business, get out of it.
Riviera Review
Pulled into the parking lot and we were the only car. The door was locked with a sign on the door that said closed. There was a employee inside who did let me in so i checked in.
Golf carts were very nice and he offered one per golfer if we wanted. That was nice.
All the tee boxes were mainly sand and weeds, fairways were weedy and long.
Greens were not mowed and the ball tracking was impossible to guess. We just agreed that no more than 2 putts were to be scored regardless of the actual puts. We could only play 9 of 18 holes.
Overall it felt like the course has been neglected for quite a while. It was nothing like the online pictures or description of the amenities and definitely not a hidden gem of Naples. Maybe at one time but not now.
