West at The Country Club of Miami

Description

The Country Club of Miami boasts two 18-hole golf courses, the West and the East. Founded in 1961, Arnold Palmer was the club's first professional. Over the years, the club has seen its fair share of celebrity names, including its most famous member, Jackie Gleason, who would invite friends Bob Hope and Bing Crosby to play the course. Jack Nicklaus even played his first professional tournament here. The West Course is the club's original layout, designed by Robert Trent Jones. At just over 7,000 yards it is much longer than the East Course, which was added in 1990. An abundance of treacherous bunkers are placed alongside the rolling greens and lush fairways. Water is also a prominent feature of the golf course, coming into play on nearly every hole.
