The Greens Are The Showstoppers
The greens at Oriole Golf Club are the showstoppers. Excellent condition and they actually fill spongy while you walk on them. Even with this spongy feel, the greens give up very few ball marks.
When you drive up to the parking lot and see the clubhouse - you are not impressed. But the course is decent with outstanding greens. This is a playable golf course that allows you to run the ball up to the green - no forced carries over bunkers. There was a beverage cart on the course too. The price of $60 for a late Monday morning tee time seemed reasonable.
This course has plenty of large iguanas roaming the course.
My only major concern of the golf course is the 18th tee shot. Any ball hooked to the left, heads toward the parking lot. There is only a chain linked fence and no netting. There has to be many cars that are hit. So, when you park your car, park on the left side and closer to the clubhouse.
Moss Boss
Course over priced for AM rates & waaay over priced for winter/tourist season!!!!! CRAZY never play then! Course mgt tooo controlling for an afternoon rd where nobody is out there. Nobody on course yet they send 3 groups off back to back to back - we could have easily gone out 15 mins earlier but Oriole has to be controlling as usual! . Always in good shape . Beverage cart girl not the friendlies didn't seem care or wanta be out there - can't blame her as only 3 groups on course. WOULD NOT play w/o a HOT deal
Good course value
Other than a lot of ant issues, a few t-boxes in need of upkeep, and some fairway places in need of upkeep, the course was in decent shape. The greens were fast and in good shape. The rates were fair for a week day. I would definitely play Oriole again.
Hidden Gem
Perfect green speeds. Fairways and tee boxes in great shape. Some dirt patches under thin grass the only thing keeping it from a 5 star rating (but this would be a perfect, resort-style condition, not something I would expect for this price).
Love the fun layout with a few risk/reward type holes. Makes you think off the tee. Cool tree placement on numerous holes.
Staff incredibly friendly and helpful.
I haven’t tried the food yet. But there’s an old school looking bar and grille inside.
Nothing not to like here! Big value for the money.
(Also one of the coolest course logos in south florida, maybe the best).
Pretty good
Greens rolled true and fast. Hadn’t played here in over a year. Course was in good shape. . Pace of play was actually really good compared to other times here. Looking forward to coming back
Moss BOSS
Hot Deal (the only way I would pay for this usually OVERPRICED trac). Nobody out there.
Boss of Moss
Stuck DIRECTLY behind a reg. men's group - no one else out playing- they shoulda sent of off # 10 so we woudln't be waiting on every hole, every shot! LONG HOT day & bev cart girl just sat at 7 th tee - never drove the frt 9 and seemed to only be servicing men's group. WE won't be playing here Wed. afternoon anymore
Boss of the Moss
Great HOT DEAL as this course is overpriced at normal rate esp. winter rates. NOBODY out there. Pace of play excellent 108 tee time and done by 350. UNLIKE yesterday's play when we followed a usual men's group - waited on every shot & hole. They shoulda sent us off the back nine for a more enjoyable pace of play rd!!!!
This was a great course that I booked just a few days in advance. We were very pleased with the maintenance of the course and greens and will definitely play it again. Great value!!
Other Reviews Tell the story
I play 3-4 times per week all over south Florida. I avoid most public broward county courses because of these reasons.. 1. The staff is absolutely terrible! Rude and outright unpleasant. 2. The courses are average at best, greens are ok, Tee boxes and fairways need work. The rough is St. Augustine grass or sand mostly. Sand traps needs more sand most places, could be borrowed from surrounding areas. There is Nothing special here. If you can play for $20 or $30 before noon it’s worth it, but set your expectations like all the other completely run down public broward courses. The only courses left in broward worth playing under $50 are Woodmont or Hollybrook. Pembroke Lakes and Jacaranda/Preserve make the cut but at a usually higher rate.

"I should Have Looked at Yelp Reviews Before I Went"
My wife, son and I Golf once a week in the area and decided to check it out. We paid for 18 holes at 4:22 PM more than enough time to finish a round. At hole #7 a lightning storm came out of nowhere.Everyone playing headed in. We went to the Pro shop which was closed to get a rain check. I called the next day and was treated like I was trying to steal from them. Anywhere else around they give rain checks no problem (Colony West Etc,). The guy kept saying "Your Not Listening To Me"...Well buddy representing Yelp customers your not listening to us. Here's how customer service works, you keep the $40.92 dollars i figure you owe us (Out of the $80. I paid) and choke on it. Then I tell everyone I meet this story (I'm already up to 12) and they tell 10 people and so on. It's a shame because this is a nice course with a good layout, but there are not good people running it. Bad policies, Horrible Customer Service, Bad people.
Great public course
My first time at Oriole was very surprising. Given its location, this course offers great greens and better than most fairways for local public courses in the area. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a good budget course.
