The Osprey Ridge Golf Course is located near Walt Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground amongst forests of mature oaks, pines, palmettos, and cypress trees. The native plant life and wetlands helped secure the golf course’s certification as an Audubon Cooperative Wildlife Sanctuary. The lengthy links design was the creation of Tom Fazio. He incorporated dramatically elevated greens framed by high mounding and undulating fairways that cut through dense forests, offering unique rolls, ridges, and elevation changes not often found on Florida golf courses. There are also more than 70 bunkers coming into play throughout, and there is water on nine holes. The Osprey Ridge course starts out gently but becomes increasingly more challenging hole by hole. The trickiest is the par-5 ninth, which plays from an elevated tee to a downward sloping fairway flanked by wood and water on either side. Golfers then have to make it to the small, well guarded green.
