The Golf Club of Jupiter
About
Founded in 1940, the Golf Club of Jupiter is one of the town's oldest golf clubs. It is a local favorite that is still a pretty well kept secret from the rest of the state. It is not the most challenging layout that low handicappers will ever encounter, but it is a quick, playable round with excellent service and a friendly atmosphere. There are some water hazards that come into play, but nothing too demanding, and there are a few strategically placed bunkers throughout. The front nine is slightly shorter and less challenging than the back nine but overall, beginners would not feel overwhelmed. In addition to the course, the Golf Club of Jupiter also has a driving range where they use floating balls into a lake.

DO NOT PLAY-WASTE OF GOOD MONEY
Absolutely the worst. We went out as a foursome on 3/22 and it was a disaster. I knew it was going to be bad when we drove on the lot and there were no parking spots. Cars were double parked, blocking in other cars. Our tee time was on time. One person opened with a poor shot on the first tee and was going to hit a Mulligan. The starter yelled at him, saying that they were backed up, and there were no extra shots allowed. On the third hole we caught a foursome, who were waiting for a group in front on them. On the fourth hole, there were three groups on the same hole. A person called the clubhouse to send a ranger out who showed up and did absolutely nothing to speed things up. By the sixth hole, we were waiting minutes between shots. By the ninth hole, there were four groups on one hole. After the ninth, I went into the golf shop to talk to someone. Nicely, I told him there were four groups on one hole and it wasn’t getting any better. He, rather arrogantly, rudely, and everything otherwise said that “it is what it is.” They have no control over play and it’s your problem. I asked him then why they send off groups every 8 minutes and he told me they’re in business to make money, too bad, no refund for the back nine or no rain-check. Basically, your problem. DO NOT PLAY HERE! Expect 5-5 1/2 hour rounds, overpriced for a mediocre course, extremely rude people at the desk. I very rarely write on Yelp, but don’t waste your money here. They’re stealing money and they don’t care. I would give them a zero if I could. Some reviews said the guy at the counter was a jerk. They’re absolutely correct.
Super fun place!
Really fun place to play. Greens, fairways, tee boxes, everything is in great condition. People are super friendly. The restaurant was awesome. Just a cool, laid back, happy energy. Really fun place to spend the day!
No walking allowed - seriously?
I haven't had a bad experience like today's in a while. I asked the guy at the pro shop if I could walk and he said absolutely not. Seriously? This course is super super short. The guy said if they allowed walking how are they gonna make any money. Seriously? That's the reason why? Just charge $10 less for walking and I bet you could still make money. The pro shop guy then became a sarcastic jerk to after this point. I'm pretty much never coming back here. What a horrible experience. On to the golf course, it does play short but it's challenging because it's pretty narrow with water or really tight fairways. A lot of the holes have houses lined up pretty much against the fairway, so if you can't hit it through a tunnel, good luck. Nonetheless the course was in good shape, lush and green. The greens were a bit slow and fluffy probably because of all the rain. If it wasn't for the jerk at the pro shop and the fact that they don't allow walking, I would come back. Lastly, I think they charge way too much, $60 it's not worth this money. You can play much nicer courses for less than this.
Bad
For the most part the greens have no grass. Some on the back side are not bad. But for the price there are better places to play.
A Nice Day Wasted
Save your money unless you enjoy playing beat up, poorly maintained muni courses which are over-priced and underloved. Tee boxes are a mess. Greens are patchy and inconsistent. Cart paths non-existent. Overall feel is a for profit course that has a lock on local public golf and is being milked by private owners.
Better to pay a bit more, and drive farther to Stuart or Lake Worth for a real golf experience not this pasture. IF the course was better groomed, it might be fun as long as the cranky homeowners lining almost every fairway to not intimidate you. One guy waved a whirring weedeater at my wife while she was preparing to hit a ball that was clearly in bounds. Urban golf feel in an area populated by real golf courses.
Should be $20 a round! not $50!
The course is all weeds. They should be charging $20 a round not $50. The only reason they can get away with $50 is there are very few public courses in our area. This course gives Jupiter a bad name. Had I paid $20 they would’ve gotten three stars.
It's Getting Better All the Tiimmmeeee (queue The Beatles)
I said I wouldn't come back until I heard course conditions had improved..... Well they have. Tremendously.
Is there room for improvement? Absitively, posalutely.
Monday Golf/Diner outing golf was good. I personally played like garbage but enjoyed the golf and the players. The food and accoutrements were above PAR.
Greens are 85% better than on previous visit.
Fairways and T-boxes also vastly improved.
Will I be back for 18? You better believe it.
Much better than some of the reviews that I had read!
The course is not too far from home, so I wanted to try it out. Saw a number of negative reviews, so I avoided it. I am glad that I finally gave it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised. Except for a few uneven tee boxes (common, it seems on public courses), the conditions were more than favorable. In fact, I would say that the conditions were very good overall.
average as usual
some of the greens are in poor shape , weeds in fairways
we were rained out , golfnow was very accommodating
Great Place to Play
If you're looking for a course with a nostaligic feel and friendly faces, this is the place to visit. The course is very straight-forward with a laid back feel. It's definitely not a fancy, upscale course, but it's very relaxing. There is also an aqua range on-site. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the pace of play was great; we didn't have to wait at all. The carts are gas-powered, which was no issue for me. There was (free) ice and water on the first tee, and a restroom near the fifth tee. No rest area was available on the back nine, but that wasn't an issue. A large deck with a ramp leads to the clubhouse and pro shop which are circa the 1970s but are very well-kept and well maintained. Modernity is not a must for me. The food was great and very reasonably priced. The kitchen area I could see was clean, and the waitress/bartenders were super nice. This place is a true gem, and I think I'll be a regular.
This course is reasonably priced when it's discounted
I was unimpressed with the condition of most of the greens and some fairways. Good to play here if you need to get back to playing regularly. Good starter course.
Ain't that shame.........
I'm somewhat still a beginner but play often enough and several different local courses to know the greens, and to some extent the entire course, at The Golf Club of Jupiter are deplorable.
The fairways are starting to get overgrown with crab grass or local wild grass. The T-Boxes need maintenance too.
The folks that work here need to revolt and get owners/management to reinvest some of the overpriced fees back into the course.
The carts ran great.
The food and service in the clubhouse is great.
The size and layout of this course make it desirable to play, the condition of the course is a complete turn-off.
This course is around the corner from my house. I have gone to the clubhouse, just to eat, many more time than I have gone to play golf.
I won't be back until I read, on this site, or hear from my buddies and neighbors that things have dramatically improved.
"The worst greens in South Florida"
The greens were way to long, the fairways were in bad shape. Does not worth the price. Playing for many years in Florida, it's the worst golf course I have ever played.
Good deal but course could be in better shape
I don't know if it is the time of the year but I played three different courses and all of them were only in fair shape. This course, 10 of the 18 greens were in rough shape, they were like playing Colorado courses after a rough winter with a lot of winter kill. Staff was great, course was wide open so pace of play we really good.
Not bad!
Overall enjoyed the round. The greens though were really really slow very thick and in poor shape. Pretty tight track. Pace of play was very good. I'd play there again but the greens need some attention .
The worst greens in South Florida
Prices are way to high for the quality of this course. They are just taking advantage pf the public demand for golf. The greens are terrible and the fairways are almost as bad. To top it off the 18th green has bare stripes ten feet apart across the whole green thanks to an oil leaking mower.
NOT WORTH THE PRICE
Rating it a "2" was being generous. Course conditions were poor, play was slow with no rangers on the course, and for the price, I could have played many much nicer courses. This one is definitively not on my future list.
Where did the greens go???
Absolutely hated the condition of the greens. I played here for years and now it's once a year! (just to see if it got better. Totally absurd greens fees during High season!!!
I agree 100%
It's in my backyard and a nicely layed out course but the condition of the greens is unforgivable.
We've been finding other reasonably priced options in norther PB County and Martin County
