Deer Creek is a private championship golf course that offers a challenge and a very entertaining round. The course is a spectacular, par 71 layout that meanders through naturally wooded uplands.
Although there is water on all but one hole, Robert Miller's design at Deercreek is an enjoyable and fair test of golf. At over 6,700 yards from the championship tees, the layout is a favorite among good players who know Jacksonville golf.
At the heart of the course is a large, 285-acre natural preserve hosting a variety of Florida wildlife. So challenging is the course, in 1996 Deercreek hosted the U.S. Open Championship Local Qualifier and the USGA Senior Amateur Qualifier. Positioned in Jacksonville's most desirable location, Deercreek Country Club is just minutes from the Baymeadows and Southpoint areas, and is located directly across from the Avenues Mall.
