Deceptive Greens
The morning was brisk and cool but warmed up to a comfortable temperature after a few holes. The sky cloudless and blue. It was one of those days when your on the golf course thankful not to be at work.
The course like the day was in great shape and the greens superb. At first glance one might think the putts on the greens would be fast but not this day. The greens are plush and firm but putted deceptively slower that they appeared.
Keep your ball in the short grass though as there are several holes where a ball can be easily lost just feet from the fairway. Also there is still some hurricane debris around the course that comes into play in areas of rough. The course is in great shape otherwise. Enjoy
Good course
Getting back into good shape after latest storms. Greens are nice though a little slow yet. Nice layout and great staff.
Very solid course and value.
Nice layout
Layout, through the neighborhood and woods is great. Green s have a couple spots they working on, but they did a good job of putting Pins in spots away from them. Also couple Tee boxes need help, but Overall good!!!
Slow green
This is my second trip back to Julington Creeks. The course, lay out, and staffs are reasonable, however, the slow green needs improvement.
Course was great, but not lunch
Restaurant was poor. We were behind two slow groups.
Course is good for higher handicaps, fewer traps and less water than all other courses in the area. Good for my group but, but we never play slow or cause group behind to wait
Overpriced
This course has seen better days. Greens are so so. They need a little help. Fairways are great. Tee boxes need a lot of work. Great layout, for all the other options there are for courses in the area this one is not worth the money. This is not a championship course anymore, you need to lower your prices.
Staff very good. Marshall going around the course and monitoring pace of play. Not real crowded so pace was very good. Course conditions were extremely poor except for the bunkers. Bunkers were perfect. Try another course.
Greens need lots of work
Always enjoy this course. The green were very bare and seem to have a fungus on most. Fortunately, most of the cups were placed away from these bad areas. Greens were also very hard which was surprising since we have had 9 inches of rain in the past week. Overall, though, fairways and tees in good shape.
Pace of play was slow
Arrived early at this course to find a tournament scheduled for 12:00 PM before my 12:30PM tee time. Tourney scheduled start was delayed which pushed my tee time back 45+ minutes. Pace of play behind the last tourney group was slow (5 hour round).
Course condition is suffering from our dry season. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in average to fair condition due to lack of water (or poor maintenance).
Go Play
Course is a good option. Greens were a bit bare, but they did decent job of making them 'playable' given the lack of plush grass base.
Challenging course for all players.
Course was in great condition, greens were quick but smooth. I've played here many times and never been disappointed.
