Oak Marsh is a Pete Dye-designed golf course that is one of three 18-hole courses at Omni Amelia Island Resort. The Oak Marsh course meanders alongside the Atlantic Ocean, providing sweeping views and an ever-changing sea breeze.

Appropriately named after its terrain of scenic salt marshes and moss-draped heritage oaks, the golf course has a stunning landscape that is ideal for a challenging round. Dye protected the natural beauty of the island by carefully maintaining the tidal marshes, oceanfront dunes, grassland, and savannahs. The layout features tight fairways and small, bulk-headed greens, a classic Dye element. There are a variety of bunkers strategically placed throughout and water comes into play on fourteen holes.

Very nice layout

I had no idea the course was closing for several months the day after I played. I feel a discount would have been appropriate based on the condition of the fairways, there literally was no grass on any of the fairways. However, the greens were in great condition. Beautiful course, love to play it again after it reopens. The pro shop staff was very friendly and professional. Great golf course, a voucher towards a future round should have been offered!

Going, going, gone for a 9 months

This course is closing Feb 25th for resurfacing. Not sure if any re-design is happening. We got a great rate but they were all ready killing the fairway grass, still was decent to play off though. Should be excellent when it opens next November or so.

Course closing for one year for entire redo.

Conditions were worst ever because of immediate closing. They should NEVER have priced it at $65 plus taxes. Total crap!

Course will apparently close in March for major renovations. Paid 50 Fairways are essentially wet clay. Greens have many unrepaired ball marks. Front nine pace was ok. Came to complete stop at ten. Skipped ahead to 14. Didn’t see anyone from that point on. No ranger. I suppose the March 10 million dollar renovation is finally going to get underway. As I understand Omnis justification for closing ocean links 18 was to put money into oak marsh. After several years following that closure it’s finally going to happen I wouldn’t think anyone who has played oak marsh would want to play it again until it reopens

Course Under Repair - Still worth playing

The course is currently being prepped for a huge renovation starting in March 2024, that being said it was still very playable and the greens were in great shape. The views are awesome on this course and do yourself a favor and on the last par on the back 9 visit the gold tees to at least check out the view if not play the tee, it was playing 167 or so when I was there. Can’t wait to see the renovations! Staff is great as well!

No warning of terrible conditions

Apparently they're about to tear up the course for renovation, but there was no warning of that on GolfNow. The fairways and rough were 100% dead and the greens were overseeded. They should be charging $20 to play there, not 80. Highway robbery👎

Wait for the renovation to be completed

Course is a very pretty layout and the staff are excellent.

However the course condition was almost unplayable. Not just greens, but tee boxes, bunkers, and fairways were not worth the $75.

Only the 18th hime had manicured a tee box, mown fairways with actual grass, and a green that’s was puttable. The rest of the course was heavily sanded and like playing from a packed down fairway bunker. And many of the tee boxes were not mown.

Should be worth a look after the renovation, but until then save yourself the $75. (Or play the Sandy par 3 course as that was in excellent condition)

Avoid at all Costs

Absolutely disgusted by the ethics of management. They are starting to do a complete renovation of the entire course and the greens have been over seeded and are more or less a carpet, if not the first cut of rough at a US Open. The fairways are bare and have been painted. In fact, the fairways were infinitely better suited to be the greens. That’s not hyperbolic either - paying $80 to play here was like getting catfished by a golf course. There was no warning of this on the TeeOff app or on the course website. You could not hit the ball hard enough to make a putt. I’m not going to ask for my money back, I’m going to demand it. The need to shut down or pay people to play here it’s so bad. Criminal activity.

Greens are atrocious

Beautiful course but absolutely not worth the going price given the greens aren’t even greens. Discount the price until it’s fixed.

Preparing for course closure

I have played this course many times in the past and love Oak Marsh. They are preparing the course to totally redo it starting in March and have already killed the fairways. The back 9 fairways have been repainted, but the grass is still dead underneath therefore creating very tight lies on all fairway shots. Greens are in good shape, but overall not worth the $105 fee. I'd probably be willing to pay $50-$55, but no more right now. Can't wait to play again in 2025 after it's been redone.
