Solid challenge for an executive course
Nice executive layout, the par 3s can be challenging. Playing from the white tees is a bit too easy, the blues put the first par 3 at 200 yards so that's a solid challenge.
I wish the course wasn't so far from the clubhouse, I prefer walking but there are some major elevation changes and the walk to the start of the course is probably about 1/4 mile so I took a cart.
According to the course guide the signature hole is #9 which is an island green par 3 but I personally find #7 (also a par 3) even more iconic and less formulaic.
Hole #7 is situated at the high point of the course with a beautiful falls next to the teeing ground and a breathtaking view of the surrounding area.
Great course to fit in nine
The course is well taken care of and the greens will be much better in a few weeks. I would suggest playing the black tees due to the overall shortness of the track. The only hole that the black plays like a black is the island green on number nine. It's 189 with a small green and a good place to loose some balls.
Still a lot of fun and plan to play again
Very nice exec 9
I really appreciate that the pro shop let me know the greens had been reciently punched. But with the golf now price, it was still a good deal!
With several tee box options, you can play the falls 9 as a short par 3 up to a hefty executive par 34 at 2865 yards.
I'll be back to try out the lakes 18 after the greens heal up!
Sweet Course
Course was great despite being dressed just about 2 wks ago. The Falls course entertaining for sure, short but entertaining. The Lakes front nine we played was also very fun, again, it was during a dressing so fairways & greens plugged meant just enjoying the scenery which was so flattering to the course. We can't wait to play the course in the coming summer when greens & fairways are smooth as marble! Thanks Pelican Lakes!
Well groomed challenging course
This course is well groomed, and presents a good challenge to the average golfer. Enjoyed the course and pace of play.
Island Green
Short course in excellent shape. The course length makes it easy except for the island green on the ninth hole. Golf carts are needed due to the half mile plus drive to the first tee from the clubhouse. Longer drive back from the ninth green.
We Love Pelican Falls
We did not play the 18-hole course but the 9 hole par 34 course they call Pelican Falls. We have played this about ten times now over the last five years, and we love it every time we come up from the Denver area where we live.
It is our favorite course in the state because the conditions are perfect, the course is interesting but we can score well on it if we play well. And the island green is always a lot of fun to try, even if it gives me a quad like it did this time.
This is a wonderful course. We only wish it were 20 minutes away instead of an hour and 20 minutes away.
Awesome course. Love it and it's elevation changes
I've always loved this course. It has good views and plays well all around. Shooting mid 70's is always a plus too!
For Pelican Falls 9 Hole
Beautiful Exec Course... Get a cart I can't see walking this as a viable option very long way from clubhouse to #1 and a lot of vertical ups and downs. large multi-tier greens which make it all about course management and shot placement. Highly recommend!
Absolutely great experience!
It was Labor Day Weekend and we decided to get away from Denver and drive up to Windsor to play some golf. A friend of mine had told me how great Pelican Falls was, so my wife and I thought we'd check it out. First of all, the town of Windsor is a gem. White picket fences, neatly groomed yards and just an All American feel to the town. They have an 18 hole course called Pelican Lakes which I have not played yet, but now want to. Pelican Falls is a 9 hole, Par 32 course that is simply FUN to play. Elevated tees, great views and an Island green! FUN, FUN, FUN! And it was in incredible shape. Pristine! They really need to offer a deal where you play 9 and then can play it again for a discount, because ti would be great to play it twice for a full 18 holes. Some people play 9 on Pelican Lakes and then play the 9 hole Pelican Falls. If you want to play a GREAT 9 hole course that is challenging, beautiful and FUN, give Pelican Lakes a shot.
Played the Falls
The Falls was in excellent condition as always. Fun to play and no waiting around. Staff was excellent. Perfect way to spend a couple of hours in the morning.
Very nice course
Had a great time playing that day with my son the course and the day were perfect would do it again
Fun course, Great locations
Played with a four-some at 5:40 on a Tuesday evening, never saw the beverage cart once. Course is well maintained and fun to play, but the rule-breakers playing as a group of six in front of us really slowed down everyone's pace of play and made the day frustrating. I will definitely go back though, nice course to mix it up from long boring championship holes.
Fun course, weak on-course management.
The Falls 9 at Pelican Lakes is a fun, playable course with some dramatic elevation changes. Number 9 is an island green. But evidently the course is treated somewhat as a practice facility with no oversight from the clubhouse. We ended up behind a five-some evidently playing for the first time. (Apparently tank-tops are considered acceptable on this nine, despite the sign at the clubhouse.) Last five holes took more than 2 hours to play. Probably will not return to this 9. (The Lakes 18 is fine in this regard.)
Great layout - quite entertaining
It is early in the season so the greens are not there yet but the layout of the course provides for a lot of fun. I guarantee you will have fun on Pelican Falls.
This is a very tough course to walk - very hilly. I would take a cart.
Nice folks in the pro shop. They are glad you are spending your money there.
Try it out. You won't be disappointed.
One of N. Colorado's Best Courses!
Pelican Lakes is a challenging course with all the water, but still a blast to play. Some nice elevated tee boxes add to the fun. Pace of play is sometimes an issue, but still a great course.
very good
good value at a discount price. High at full price.
very nice course.
Great!
The staff greeted me and helped me as soon as I came through the door. The course was in the best shape of anywhere I played this summer. I played Pelican Lakes multiple times this season even though I live an hour from the course. I will be back.
