About
Evergreen Golf Course is an 18-hole, public course that is located west of Denver on the shore of Evergreen Lake. It is conveniently located only about 30 minutes from Denver. It is an affordable option that offers a good game. The golf course is widely known for its excellently manicured greens and also its immaculate maintenance. Water hazards come into play on only three holes but the entire course is also well-bunkered. The terrain is quite hilly and there are many dogleg fairways, both providing even more challenge. Evergreen Golf Course's natural beauty is made up of Ponderosa Pines that are sprinkled throughout and scenic mountain views from nearly every tee.

Conflicting tee time
we had a tee time at 1:00 pm. For most 9 holes we had to wait for groups in front of us. Once we got to hole#10 we say about 4 groups ( 16 players) starting their afternoon league. We were told this weekly league start on Tuesdays at 3:30 PM and last group will tee off around 4:45 PM. We were told we need to wait for the last group start and then we can continue with our game or ask for rain check. The club house attendee could not give rain check since our reservation was made through Golf Now. His suggestion was to contact Golf now and ask for refund. He apologized for messing up our game but he referred us to Golf Now. It was a big mess.

Beautiful mountain course!
Beautiful mountain course. A lot of short par 4 but the elevation can make up for that. Great views and the wildlife makes a great audience!

Disappointing grass conditions
Given the amount of rain we got this spring, the tee boxes looked more like August than June. Fairways mowed and appropriate but not as good as they could have been with better care. Greens here are always a challenge due to the altitude and animal tracks so they were OK but slow. This course is a challenge for any golfer who cannot direct the ball and that makes it frustrating for many but fun for others. The views are gorgeous!!

Always a good time
Love this course. Have played it for years and never disappointed. It can be a little slow but just pace yourself and take your time with every shot. Use it to play better golf.

Dodge the Elk
Wife and I played Evergreen for the first time. As stated in other reviews, the course is a little shorter than many, but has a few twists and turns. One example is a par 3 where your line to the green is over a monster rock, with an arrow on it to line you up to a blind green. There are a number of blind shots on the course. Another interesting aspect is the herd of elk which lingers on the course. Fun to see, but some avoidance of “elk pies” is necessary. They are hard to get to move if in the way of a shot. Staff was super friendly and explained the course to us before teeing off. Only downsides were very hard tee boxes so difficult to insert tee, and recently sanded greens on back 9. Very busy place for a weekday, but Hot Desl price was right!

Great mountain course value
Nice blind shots on a not long course. Love the doglegs as you dont need your driver off the tee on several boxes.

Best value out there!
A great course with beautiful scenery just outside of the city. Best bang for the buck. If you're not a golf pro/snob you will love this place. All I mean by that is it's fun and easy with a couple par 4s and 5s that give the average player some birdie potential. Definitely will back often!
