Located high in the Sierra among towering pines and meandering creeks, Tahoe Donner Golf Club is a scenic mountain course that is a member of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary program. The front nine of the golf course moves clockwise while the back nine moves in reverse, providing an interesting change of pace. The unique layout features narrow fairways that are lined with trees and large, undulating greens that putt true and fast. There are bunkers strategically placed throughout and a water hazard comes into play on the last hole. Dramatic elevation changes afford views of the mountainous countryside and the abundant wildlife that call Tahoe Donner Golf Club home.

Wonderful Mountain Golf Course

Tahoe Donner is a great course with a beautiful mountain layout and multiple tee boxes to accomodate every player. The course was in great shape and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Of course it did start snowing on us during our round which was awesome! Bring an orange ball just in case :-)

Very nice course

Tahoe Donner is a beautiful course, and very well maintained. The scenery justifies playing the course. One thing though, you should be able to drive the ball straight as the fairways are somewhat narrow can be challenging.

Awesome Course! Golf there if you can

The course was in great shape! I shot a 116. The course was much harder than the courses that I typically play. It was still GREAT fun though and I look forward to golfing there again!

This course is narrow, hilly and demands thoughtful approach shots. Not easy but very pretty.

TD was in very good shape and is in a beautiful setting. I'd probably enjoy it more if we'd played with someone who knew the course. The course has several elevation changes, several blind shots where you can't see the greens, is narrow and lined with trees. It's not a grip it and rip it track...you need to place your shots well, especially your approach shots as the greens don't hold. Some holes your best bet is to hit on the high side and let the ball roll onto the green. Most greens were challenging to read too.

A challenging sierra mountain golf course.

Although some of the greens had some bad patches, most were fast, true and pristine. It's a challenging course from the silver tees and not recommended for double digit handicappers. Many fairways are narrow and trees abound on both sides. To have a better golfing experience, a 10 or above index should move forward of the silver tees. The landscape and views are beautiful.
I hope to return.

Peaceful Golf Course

The course was more than a little wet in spots but beautiful. Greens were very well maintained. Sand traps were manicured and perfect. It's a little expensive for the average public. The staff really makes this course extra special. Everyone was genuinely friendly and very accommodating. It was a cloudy, overcast Monday with no one in front of or behind us on the front 9. Back was as little slower with a group of 5 ahead of us giving us a little extra time to savor the beauty.

Great mountain course

Very nice! From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and helpful. Charlie in the pro shop was very welcoming and helpful. The course was in very good condition, however the greens were a little slow. Some tight driving holes and long par 3's made for a challenging round. Played Monday pm on GolfNow HotDeal and finished in 4 hours. Great course, would definitely play again.

very nice course

My first time playing this course. Very narrow fairways and greens were difficult to read which is typical for a course I have never played before. I would certainly play this course again.

Tahoe Donner Review

Course was in great condition and it is a beautiful course and interesting to play. Always seems to get backed up but not too bad on this occasion. Usually I have to skip holes in frustration.

This tree-lined course is a gem in High Sierra.

I played in a four ball flight in a cool afternoon. As expected, accuracy off the tee was a must in this scenic course. The condition of the fairway was pristine but the greens were patchy at places but all in all, they were well-maintained. The wind got up in the back nine. Distance control became harder to manage. Unfortunately, the course plan on the score card was not helpful at all. I had to rely on the experience of my playing partners whom I had met for the first time. I enjoyed the course.

Majestic, Clean Cut, and Creative shots. Best Course in Tahoe

I snuck in on a great deal. A steal if you ask me. The course was in great shape, fast greens, challenging approach shots, and a great game of mountain golf. The club house is split into three very convenient parts (Dinning and Bar, The Pro Shop, And the Snack Shop). You can call in food between hole 8 and 9 and they leave you a menu out there should you not have a smart phone to look it up yourself. There website needs some serious work because it does the rest of the course, and the experience of playing here, no justice.

Great course, especially woman/senior friendly. Forward tee's make pars more than accessible. Bathrooms are strategically placed.

Hoping to beat the heat in Tahoe, thinking it might be cooler a bit higher up, we decided to try the Donner course rather than Tahoe City. We didn't beat the heat, however it was still an excellent decision.

Lush green fairways, not too fast, not too slow greens, and no out of bounds (a feature my husband found useful), made the day super enjoyable. Definitely a course worth playing for golfers of any ability.

It also has a family friendly feel. Speed of play was good even with the grandfather and grandson in front of us. Grandpa was clearly giving lessons, sometimes playing more than 1 ball. We value this in a course, what a great way to get kids into the game!

windy day

Got there and the wind was blowing about 70 mph, asked if we could get a wind check ( rain check) and was told that because we booked through Golfnow we had to play or loose our money. The course was in great shape for this early in the season and besides not allowing us to rebook our round for a more calm day the service was good and we had lunch in the pub and it was very good
