The Sky Course is one of two championship courses at Lost Canyons Golf Club. It offers the same level of difficulty as its sister course, the Shadow, but it offers a different variety. Pete Dye, Perry Dye and Fred Couples collaborated to design all 36 holes at the club. The Sky Course meanders along a landscape of canyon ridgelines, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Like all of Dye's courses, he tried to have as little disturbance on the natural environment as possible. Couples influence and experience with British Open-style layouts is seen in the traditional links-style design. One of the trickiest holes comes halfway through the golf course on the par-4 ninth, which is the golf course's number one handicap. This dogleg right hole is a monstrous 485 yards that requires a tee shot past a lake and a long fairway bunker to a well protected green.
