Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, CordeValle Golf Club has a dramatic landscape of sloping hillsides, canyons, and grassy meadows blanketed with towering sycamores and mature California oaks. The diverse landscape calls for a variety of different strategies and club selections. Meandering creeks and wetlands have a small role in the layout, most notably on the par-5 third, but overall the course is more straightforward. The strategically placed bunkers provide a majority of the challenges. From the back tees, the golf course is a formidable test but the forward tees are friendly enough for beginners. Although the green fees are steep, CordeValle has maintained a loyal following and has received great acclaim from Golf Digest and Golfweek, who both ranked it as one of the best golf courses in the country.
