Previously known as Ocean Trails Golf Club reopened as Trump National. Perched above the ocean cliffs, Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles is the most expensive golf course ever built at $264 million. The "Donald Trump signature" layout features white sand bunkers, expansive lakes, lavish waterfalls and awesome views of the Pacific Ocean. Its genesis is the Pete Dye-designed Ocean Trails, a golf course never opened because of a landslide that claimed the 18th fairway. After Trump acquired it out of bankruptcy, he enlisted Tom Fazio to oversee a complete redesign. The 18th hole alone cost $62 million. Upon its opening in 2005, Trump proclaimed that Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles would be "better than Pebble Beach."
