8 of 18 holes are closed
Whose fault is it? I paid for 18 holes on GolfNow but only played 10 because the other 8 were closed (as in flooded). GolfNow did not mention this detail at the time of booking, and the golf course did not take responsibility when we checked in.
Don't waste a good day
When we arrived we found out that only holes 1-10 were open for play. The rest of the course is still closed from the storms. (Nothing about this when I booked the tee time on GolfNow) The course was in terrible condition. You would lose balls on fairways since they have not been actively cut to a reasonable length. I played a few years back and the course was in much better condition than now
COURSE 1 TO 10 HOLES OPEN
I PLAYED ON 04/08, 1 TO 10 HOLES WERE OPENED, REMAINING ARE LOSED DUE TO POOR CONDITION.
I PLAYED FILL PRICE BUT ONLY PLAYED 10 HOLES.
Rainy conditions messed this course up badly
Rainy conditions caused maintenance not to be done (thick mud and tall grass). Nice shots into the middle of fairway are almost impossible to find due to high grass. Extremely muddy in almost every hole besides 1 and 2. Will come back when conditions get better, possibly in 6 months
A weathered Alistair McKenzie
Decided to golf another Alistair McKemzie this week given its Masters week and I have been playing Northwoods quite a bit.
This course was in bad disreapir due to all the record setting rains and storms the bay area got. I just wish that there was some online prescence as I would not have some until it was ready, the fairways were not even mowed and I lost 3 balls in the middle as it was US Open 2nd cut deep in the fairways.......3 greens were closed and temp pins were in play....I gave up after 5 holes and 3 balls......Only thing I am complaining about is that GolfNow still had deals on and the course which is operated by the Parks system in San Fran had no alerts up.
I will try it again though when it is repaired and in full operation, looked and felt like an Alistair......hope this helps someone else
Course should have been closed
The worst condition of any golf course I’ve ever played. They should have closed it instead of taking money from the I expecting
Course flooded and partially closed
The freeway haven't been mown in a long time. You can easily loose your ball in the middle of the fairway. Most of the fairways are flooded in areas. You can pay $25 at site to play the 10 holes that are open, but not worth even that. Bring a lot of balls, if you plan to play.
Should Not be Offered at This Time
We booked 18 holes. There wasn’t any warning from Golf Now that the conditions might be a problem. We get there, and they’re only offering holes 1-10. They haven’t mowed the fairways in months because they can’t due to weather (which is fine, but there’s no reason a warning message couldn’t pop up when booking).
We probably could’ve played at least five more based off what I saw, but they decided 1-10 only. I don’t believe this was a one off thing. I’m pretty sure it’s been this way for awhile, and I don’t think it should be offered on golf now (without a warning) when the conditions are like this.
They were very up front when we got there, but we would’ve preferred to have found an alternative course from the get go. Once we are on site, it’s too late to make a change.
The course condition
Hole 11 - 18 were closed due to the recent rain & flood..
Even the open holes were terribly wet and muddy.
You should refund entire money go this play.
Rough, Overgrown Fairways
Literally…The fairways and the rough were all the same grass length…3-5 inches high. I lost my tee-shot ball in 90% of the fairways hit …Couldn’t find the ball. I know we have had storms of late, but they should not be charging green fees if fairways are uncut and unkept. The greens were were cut and in good condition, but the fairways all had overgrown grass.
I want a refund
Course was flooded. Only holes 1-10 were open. Clubhouse was only charge $25 for the 10 holes available.
Course is in horrible condition and is really unplayable. Please refund me the total cost.
Love Sharp Park...BUT...
Have played this track dozens of times; always a great day out.
Checking in, we were given the Resident Rate of $43 since the course was "still a bit wet due to the storms in January"...OK, no worries...so I thought.
The majority of fairways have large saturated areas. So much so, they cannot maintain the fairways properly (mowing) without fear of completely tearing them up. Due to this, the fairways affected have 2-4" of grass (not kidding); that coupled with the small, white flowers in bloom everywhere made for an adventurous day finding your ball...IN THE FAIRWAY! Overall greens were good, no water in the bunkers...the fairways are atrocious...almost like hitting from the rough at Harding Park on some holes.
Even with the Cart Path only rule, Walkers and Push Carts are tearing this place up due to the saturated conditions. I would prefer that they shut Sharp Park down until April (May?) to allow for the rainy season to pass, get the course to dry out and heal.
I will be back...but probably no until late Spring/early Summer.
Course is beyond unplayable
Most fairways are soaked and still holding pools of water from rains late December, early January. Greens and tee boxes are still way below muni course average,. fairways are beyond unplayable on over 60 percent of the course. They do not cut the grass here and the extreme weather made a terrible situation much, much worse.
