Very Poor Drainage
Course was not playable and should have been closed. The drainage on this course is abysmal. We expected a cart path only day, given the recent rains. However, many of the fairways were literally a swamp. Lost several balls in the middle of the fairway. Greens were actually in very good shape.
Wait for summer
Avoid playing Los Positas until Summer Time. VERY WET AND THEY SHOULD REDUCE GREEN.FEES DUE TO COURSE CONDITIONS.
Worst Course I Ever Played
The course conditions were the worst I have ever played in 40+ years of golfing. You couldn't find your ball eben if you hit it in the fairway. That course is never maintained, We all know it rains in the winter but when there are consistently the same lakes created by poor drainage in the same locations over and over it shows a lack of professionalism by the course staff and a lack of investment in the course itself. I was ready to quit after 13 or 14 holes. The course is also overbooked with 8 minute intervals between tee times creating 5 1/2 to 6 hour rounds frequently. Unfortunately the course is close to my home and I want to play there but always seem to be dissappointed.
Seriously!
I read the reviews about how awful the course is and the pace of play is awful and I wonder what ate people talking about.
Especially the ones ssying “I understand that they flooded with rain but still”. People it is not like taking care of your front yard. There was hundreds of thousands of cubic ft of sludge and silt washed onto the course. I heard cars floated away in the parking lot. A whole green sunk. What do people expect. 3 or 4 months closed with no revenue added to the expense of all the cleanup. From that point of view they have done a great job. How many of you peopke support the golf course and buy merchandise? How many stop and thank the pro’s and the maintenance staff for getting the course to this point. Ive played alot of golf there and never see anyone fill fivots, fix ball marks and rarely rake traps. But you come here and bash them. Course is in great shspe considering and looks like other positive fixes have been started. Cut them a break and support our local course. We arr lucky to have it and the golf pros that run it. My kids do the junior program and chris and michael who work with them are fantastic. Yes 6 hrs is a long time but if people quit going where they say not to and stop bringing girlfriends who do not know golf cuz they are trying to impress them and just play golf it may be quicket. That being said, I played in 5:10 mid sunday morning. I will take that on any muni.
Its never going to br pebble but for the price and a muni it is pretty good. Thanks again to the staff. Keep doing what you are doing.
Been driving by this course for 27 years.
I finally had a chance to play Las Positas Golf Course. The fairways had areas of bare soil. Lots of ground under repair. The greens were rolling well. This course was a good value for playing on a weekend. It was good for walking.
Work in progress
This course is like a a ex-girlfriend or wife. It’s a work in progress. You show up hoping for the best and settling for what you got. Realizing why you haven’t been back in awhile.
The rough is muddy and slick…can take a person out if you’re not careful. Will come back when can’t find another tee time on a Sunday.
Lost its Luster
I cannot believe the direction this course has gone. Having a rate of almost $80 for a round and the course is beat up. The greens crews must be day labor from Home Depot. Fairways and Green side rough look like a blind man mowed them. Pin placement was not bad but again 1/2 depression or the reverse of that for the previous day pins. Driving range is not looking any better and thin range mats show no love to your clubs. Overall this course currently is a 45-50 dollar round at best. If it wasn’t for the Staff who was as great in the club house and Bebe’s it would be a place to board up.
It’s really sad because it use to be a great track, I can only hope ownership can turn this around.
Surprised!
After the difficult winter and the aparently, horrendous, draining logistics around los Positas, I was pleasantly surprised by the playability, and the excellent condition, other tees and greens. I will be back👍👌🏌🏿♀️⛳️🇺🇸
Extremely slow pace of play
Rather play Dublin Ranch as there are marshals that will speed up the group that is running slow. I saw just one marshall driving around during the entire 18. It took over 5.5 hours to finish. Not recommended and will not be coming back.
