A day with my son
I took my son on his 46 B- Day his frist time at Davids gc. We had a great time and shot pretty good . He thought the course was in good cond and would love to play again. The greens are difficult but fun
Nice flat course interesting greens
I played here many times and always enjoyed the course. The greens were surprisingly fast. Fairways were a little rough to play but like all courses there's a water shortage. Everything was mowed and cut and will taken care of.
Fun place to revive your game!
if you are a 'duffer' like me, playing an occassional round at a place like Davis Muni should be a requirement. flat, wide-open course allows you to play a more relaxed game, lower your scores and get some confidence back. i was so down on golf in the fall after getting beat up on courses like Poppy Ridge, Wente, Diablo Grande, Roddy Ranch, that I was thinking of hanging up the clubs. after yesterday, i can't wait to play again. great value, decent pace of play. fairways are brown due to combo of lack of rain and bermuda grass, but everything is very well maintained especially greens and tee-boxes. very friendly staff. if it weren't a 90-minute drive, i'd be up here more often. thanks Davis Muni for helping revive my enjoyment of the game!
Great course for the price
I am an average golfer shooting low 90s. Course was pretty easy but still fun. Pace of play was okay for the most part. Food and drinks were typical of an average golf course (few choices for beer, hot dogs, sandwiches). Golf Now got me a great price with a golf cart so we drove out from Sac to try the place out. Really good course for what they charged. $4 for half a bucket to get warmed up so that was nice too.
Plays like a muni
Great staff, great snack bar! The course plays like a muni. Be prepared to wait! It's a short course so lots of people feel obligated to play from the blue tees. Stick to the white till your in the 70's!!
Doing fine with a terrible drought situation
The long suffering drought has made conditions very difficult. These groundsmen are doing a fantastic job just keeping the course playable. Our aging foursome (all seniors) at least have a chance at scoring reasonably well at this course. Perfect distance for us. Learning the greens a continuing challenge..
davis @ bargain time
I've been coming from Vacaville, and playing here for a 4 months and enjoying. But since
after the holidays it has become so crowded that 4-5 carts are piled up at every hole. have to wait for 4-5 groups to tee off...then have people crowding behind us. I chose Davis because of inexpensive 11:30 to 1:30 fees. I think I'll stay at Vacaville "Green Tree" and save my gas.....getting too darn crowded.
Nearby course
A lovely little course which is good for those who do not like long courses with lots of hazards. Greens were true and quite fast. Everything was fairly well kept and the trees make it a pretty course.
Worth the money
Course was a little brown, but weather has been cold and this is to be expected. Overall, conditions were good . Pace of play was good but then again, the day was cold and not too many were out there. Probably had the priced not been as good as it was, we might not have played there, but overall , it was a good day and we'd do it again.
The fairways are too close to each other.
I was afraid of getting hit by an errant shot. There are no plastic windshields on the carts. Twice while we were playing, another golfer came into our fairway to take his next shot.
Preety easy course, except when the wind is howling...
Fun course to play... Staff in pro shop very friendly... Cheap beer for after the round...
Challenging and fun
Had a great time everyone from the staff to the players were friendly
the course was maintained
It was a very windy day 16-25 mph ,so the course had some advantages ,I believe without the wind the course plays shorter than the yardage and can produce a fun ( unrealistic ) perhaps score
Trees make it challenging, you have to be accurate on a lot of holes.
Not a long course, only one par5 on the back. Trees make shot making a little difficult. I learned to play here and it's one of the best kept municipal courses that I've played on and very reasonably priced.
flat fariways wide open hard to lose a ball
before booking I'd check wind conditions, I couldn't keep my cap on, putting was hard the wind would move me and the ball, My first trip was not a happy one but I do plan on going back and playing on a nice warm day with no wind.
