Boo-hoo
Sadly, this course closed to make way for the development of housing.
No good
No grass on green can't put can't chip no no no good they need to do a lot off work :(
This course had great potential
It look like the course was let go either because of the drought or reducing money and staffing. The greens were dry and mostly bare dirt. Some of the fairways were the same. It is a challenging course and could be fun if restored.
Course Needs A Lot of Work
This was my first time playing in California and I am a fairly new golfer but the conditions of the fairways and greens have a lot to be desired. With work the course could be really nice for a 9 hole but not currently. The greens in most places were like leveled sand dunes with patches of greens. Unfortunately this is not a course I would recommend even for practice.
Worst course ever!!!
Don't go here!!! Greens are unusable, putting on greens is like putting on fairway and are half dirt. Tee's boxes are terrible, fairways are a joke. This must be the worst course ever. Thankfully it didn't cost much thanks to golfnow.com. actually paid for 18 holes but only played 7 of them and that was because I had nothing better to do. Might as well have gone to a range do to the unusable greens or should I say browns.
Sunrise golf course. And golf now.com app
Very nice and friendly staff...the course was quite distressed...due to drought conditions and a fungus on all the putting greens. Green on hole 3 dangerous as balls from the driving range hit up to the putting green. Uncrowded...$10 for nine holes. Challenging little course !
Directions on golf now.com took me to a residential street.....5 minutes away from the course. And when I arrived the green fee was only $10 and golf now.com said it would be $15. This was my first time using the app..hope it is more accurate next time !
Lame
Dry and very unkept. They have a little desk over by the bar area for the starter. The driving range looked like a sand pit. Very poorly taken care of.
not a good place to golf
the conditions of this golf course were horrible. Do not waste your money.
Would be a nice course if there was some turf...
Would be nice , but there was no fairway to speak of, & the greens were a mess...
Challenging course for the wrong reasons
When I finally found the clubhouse and walked in at around 3pm I was instantly warned by an overly intoxicated bar-fly that the course was very tough. Checked in and issued a cart that struck me as a second-time hand-me-down. Course was vacant, and soon found out why... Fairways were almost inexistent, most of the grass that was there was totally dead, remainder of course was plain dirt. The grass on the tiny greens was so long it was like putting on a good course's fairway (again, where the grass was not dead or missing). Even if you hit your ball exactly where you wanted to, chances are it's gonna be a bad lie. Putting is like playing plinko. It's not all bad though, the workers are very friendly, beer is cheap, and there isn't anybody else out there playing. Didn't know there was a secret wilderness in the middle of Citrus Heights, nice scenery.
