Editor's Note: Course closed for business in Dec 2016.
Like its sister course, the West Course, the East Course at Rancho Canada was also once part of a of the 4,366-acre California Rancho "Canada de la Segunda." As the shorter of the two courses, the East Course is a true shotmaker's course. The Carmel River comes into play five different times on the front nine with holes that start out relatively benign, but quickly increase in difficulty. As you get to the back nine, the views of the Santa Lucia Mountains can be breathtaking. The finishing holes on the East Course are among the best on the Monterey Peninsula. Among them is the 580-yard, par-five 16th, which Tiger Woods once hit in two shots during a high school tournament.
