Plenty of water, just not going on the fairways. Most bunkers were very muddy. Several had standing water in them at noon on a day when it was 86 degrees. Photo submitted by danstone360 on 07/25/2015

Teeboxes were a joke in nearly all cases. Photo submitted by danstone360 on 07/25/2015

Fairways were awful. Not because of the drought. This course has reclaimed water and it was very muddy in many places. Seems like their grounds crew is off for 2015. Photo submitted by danstone360 on 07/25/2015

Brentwood GC Is Back!
Much improved from about a month ago. Tee boxes need improvement, needs to be leveled and grass needs to recover some mire. Fairways are in good playing condition. Greens also have recovered nicely. Old holes 8 & 9 replaced with short par 3. And old hole par 5 hole 15 turned into holes 14 same as old hole & new 15 is a short par 3 playing the same green as new hole 14 (this green will be a bottleneck!). Overall, I think this GC is again a fun course to play.
Brentwood Creek/hillside
The course is in good shape, very green. The fairways are nice and smooth. Don’t get into the rough you will pay the price as the rough is long right now. Since I played early in the morning and I was the second one out, I finished in 2 1/2 hours.
Slow
Golfers so slow to play.
I skipped 2 holes and I passed 3 time to play.
It should be has notice that " allows fast Golfers go through " on cart' front view.
Not much change
I've played this course prolly 20 times in the last year driven mostly by the deals, the availability, and the location convenience. It is a decent track overall but some recommendations for the ownership.
Put drying towels on the ball washers, fix the traps, clean up some of the tee boxes and most importantly get a real green for the par 5 15th. The latter is a joke.
Just bad overall. Don’t come here.
Waste of money don’t play here. Staff sucks. They also have like a makeshift part three in the back nine. Don’t waste your money here. Antioch has a better golf course. It’s like 10 minutes out go there.
Brentwood course
We played early in the morning. It was just after the a rain day, it was cart path only. Since I walk that didn’t matter to me, but the course was quite wet so we were I was soaked by the time we got done. Pace of play was good and a fun day. By the time we finished they were allowing the carts to get on the course.
Fairway is ok, green condition is bad
Sunday noon tee time, we finished a little over 4 hours, so good pace of play. Green is not in good condition though.
Getting better but not good
Have played here due to proximity many times. Since my last review there have been improvements on the simple things...water in the ball washers and more sand in the traps. Still no towels available though.
Tee boxes: needs work, lots of uneveness
Fairways: given the amount of rain, these were in pretty good shape. No standing water, but certainly areas of saturation. Well kept enough to allow most to be open to drive carts on.
Greens: Probably the best I've seen in some time
Carts: The "new" yellow golf carts aren't really golf carts more like converted farm carts. No spots for golf balls, small cubbies. I mean the mirrors, turn signals, and hazard lights are interesting options for a course.
I've played this course 5 times since they eliminated/changed about 3 to 4 holes and for the most part the changes when they fully take hold will be good except for 1... The par 5 14th. The owner has used this hole's original green as the green for the next hole and in its place is a "temporary" postage stamp, highly sloped, uneven, unputtable, rock hard green that is simply unfair. It takes a solid drive on this hole to get to a point where reaching in 2 is a possibility, but even the most perfectly struck shot has ZERO chance of holding the green. Even a 10 yd chip that hits the front of this "boulder", will roll off the back some 30 feet.
This needs to be a top priority for the ownership as it has been this way since they made changes.
I have said previously that this track design is really very good. More attention to details and this could get back to
winter golf
Course in decent condition for current weather rainy cold. Better than expected. Clubhouse has great food and service.
Perfect day
Very nice day to play golf, but course has changed a lot, lots of green locations changed, will go back.
Bad shape
The course is in terrible shape and they are moving the holes around because the owner is to cheap to fix the sprinkler systems in play. It’s very sad because it’s in a high money area yet the cheap owner doesn’t want to do the right thing and fix his establishment. They purchase new carts but they aren’t for a golf course they are road carts. No storage for balls yet why does a course cart need a horn and blinkers makes no sense. It’s sad because it has so much potential to be a nice course yet it just has bad ownership. Another course that will be closed down within a few years.
Course on decline
Learned from other local golfers that the course almost closed down and saved by the local residents (which is admirable), but it's not well maintained, the driving range is closed (only two net stations for irons), not practice green or bunker.
Beautiful course
Great topography, nice trees, some pretty holes, greens are OK,, but overall is generally in bad shape..
For a course whose previous glory is well-remembered by the old-timers, it's very disappointing. Many of the fairways are very chewed up, so there's no roll and hard to find your ball. The new configuration makes no sense with 2 "new" very short par 3s. Can we please have water in the ball washers? On a positive note, the greens are decent, the bunkers are somewhat better, new golf carts, the rains have cleared and filled the ponds, there is work being done on the irrigation system. For the city of Brentwood, to have its' namesake golf course deteriorated to this degree, is a shame and waste of what could be a source of pride and great entertainment area of the city. But, I'm ever-hopeful that it will continue getting better and.be enjoyed by many for years to come.
Re-vamped course layout
Not a fan of the "new layout" of Brwntwood Golf Course. Miss the "old layout" which had a great rythm to it.
