Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona may have been carved from the high Sonoran desert but it's more like a lush oasis. The course is dappled with meandering streams and creeks as well as more than 30,000 plants and native flowers. The landscape features everything from evergreens and weeping willows to mountain laurel and even a few saguaro cacti. The golf course begins gently but gets increasingly more difficult, especially on the back nine. Water is not an overpowering presence on the course, despite there being more than 14 acres of it throughout. The 10th hole is one of the most memorable. This par 5 is a double dogleg that requires accuracy to avoid a lake on the right and bunkers to the left. The challenging and beautiful Sewailo layout is consistently ranked as one of the best golf courses in Arizona.
