The last time I play here
The greens are very inconsistent on iron shot one green will hold the next a 9 iron may bounce 10 yard high. Fairways are mediocre. If you have not played this course before use your range finder before you hit a drive so it doesn’t run through the fairway. The range balls are the worst I have ever hit!
Dog Track
Greens were harder than the parking lot. 1000 divit marks on every green.
Fairways were in good shape. Tee boxes extremely overgrown but not horrible.
Round took over 5 hours. Never once saw a Marshal.
I was told the pros used to play tournaments there years ago. How many years ago? 100? Lol
Sorry this is not the place to go tee it up.
Good and bad
Course is in good condition as it normally is, the only issue today was the pace of play. No gap between the groups, every hole had 2 groups waiting to tee off, finally opened up on the back nine as most groups quit after the front nine due to the pace. Took roughly 3 and 1/2 hours to play the front nine, back nine finished in 1 and 1/2 hours. The groups were playing as fast as they could, believe the slow pace caused by scheduling start times too close together. Good thing the weather was nice, and the company was good. I enjoy being on the golf course but 5+ hours to play 18 holes is too long.
Good value
We enjoyed playing, the pace of play was good the greens were very fast,
The fairways were very acceptable, when we landed in the areas of less grass, we just moved,
We were only playing for fun, if your a high end player and a purist for score , make sure you keep it
In the fairways
Tough Green
This course was in mediocre shape. Greens were very sparse making them hard to hold and very fast. Not much grass for as much rain as we have received. Fairways and roughs were pretty good.
Fourty Niner
Always great to golf here. We were paired with two great guys from Oregon. Unfortunately the cold rain ran us off the course. I called GN and was very pleasantly surprised that I would get a credit for the unfinished 9 holes.
Looking forward to going back to Fourty Niner CC again.
Average Course
Greens very little green grass, More sparse gray ground than grass, fairways were ok.
Needs some work
Greens were pretty bad, bunkers were concrete. (I had a ball skip twice in one). Overall needs some work if I were to play there again.
Fun and pretty course
We always enjoy playing at the 49er-the course is attractive and not overly difficult, and the staff is friendly and efficient.
Pleasant Afternoon
Forty-Niner is a very pleasant golf course on the east side of Tucson. Very busy but it is run very well. All personnel always very welcoming.and accommodating. Beautiful views of the Rincon and Catalina mountain ranges. I will definitely return with guests.
Greens
Greens as fast as have ever seen them. Tough putting!
This is a really fun course!!
