Located in the western portion of the Phoenix metro, Tres Rios GC at Estrella Mountain Park ( formerly known as Estrella Mountain Golf Course ) is an 18-hole, championship course with a traditional parkland layout. Opened in 1962, the golf course underwent a major renovation in 1998 that earned an appearance in Golf Digest as one of the top five most improved golf courses in the country. The golf course has a player-friendly layout that still offers a fair amount of challenges. In addition to offering a great round, the course is one of the most affordable public courses in the area. Estrella Mountain also has practice facilities for golfers to use including a grass driving range, practice bunker, chipping area, and putting green.
