Desert Canyon Golf Club meanders through the scenic canyons and mountains of Fountain Hills. Blanketing the natural arroyos and hills of the Sonoran Desert, there are plenty of elevation changes throughout the golf course. There are elevated tees that offer panoramic views of Red Mountain, the Four Peaks, and Fountain Hills' signature 550-foot fountain, the tallest in the world. There is also plenty of variety in the layout with blind uphill approach shots and elements of classic Scottish-links golf. The Desert Canyon Golf Club layout features strategically placed doglegs and a few forced carries. Although the fairways appear open, they play tight. To make the golf course even more challenging, it plays uphill into the prevailing wind.
